Jackie Tohn Hosts MaeDay Rescue Charity Event Featuring Celebrity Appearances
Nobody Wants This star Jackie Tohn is set to host an event to benefit MaeDay Rescue, with support from fellow celebrities including Nikki Glaser, Chelsea Peretti, and others.
MaeDay Rescue has organized the Paws for Comedy: A Charity Comedy Show, which will be held on August 2 in Los Angeles. Alongside Tohn, 44, who will host this charitable event, there is an impressive lineup of comedians, including Glaser, 41, Peretti, 47, Andy Richter, Heather Pasternak, Jessica Keenan, and Mo Welch.
Paws for Comedy will feature stand-up acts, a DJ performance by Moby, and other surprises. The press release states that the event will provide “a memorable evening designed to inspire and uplift the animal community while raising vital funds for MaeDay’s mission and core values.”
All proceeds will go towards spaying and neutering medical expenses, costs associated with fostering, and additional items to pamper the MaeDay foster animals as they wait for their forever homes. The event will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Creature Comforts Brewery in Los Angeles. Attendees can expect curated vegan dishes, caricatures, flash tattoos, a pet communicator, and more.
“I have adopted all of my dogs from MaeDay Rescue, and I’m thrilled to support their remarkable work while enjoying a night of comedy and entertainment,” Glaser expressed in a statement regarding the upcoming event.
Glaser has previously shared her affection for MaeDay Rescue.
“I am incredibly honored to support MaeDay Rescue. I have three dogs from MaeDay. You must check out their site to see the adorable pups they have available,” she mentioned in a June video for the rescue. “Take Mona, a 10-year-old, 8-pound sassy diva. This girl carries herself like an entrepreneur who invested early in Google. Don’t let her senior label deceive you—Mona is quicker on her feet than Connor McDavid.”
She continued, “Adopting a senior dog is one of the kindest things you can do; they truly deserve love. They’ve experienced a long and challenging life. They may have been abandoned or lost their forever home. They need it more than any other dogs—and you’ll truly be a hero.”
MaeDay Rescue is an organization established by Natalie Garcia in 2010. Its mission is dedicated to “saving animals and finding them loving forever homes throughout greater Los Angeles. As animal shelters continue to face the challenges of overcrowding and increasing euthanasia rates, MaeDay’s foster-based rescue program offers animals a second chance at life.”
