Josh Allen Reacts to Hailee Steinfeld’s Baby Announcement Following Bills Win
Josh Allen is eagerly anticipating fatherhood.
After the Buffalo Bills’ 35-31 victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday, December 14, Allen, 29, took a moment to chat with reporters about the exciting news that he and his wife Hailee Steinfeld are expecting their first child together.
“I’ve known for a while now, so it’s not too shocking to me,” he shared. “But the love and support from my teammates and friends has made this a really special moment for both my wife and me.”
Steinfeld, also 29, first revealed the news through her Beau Society newsletter on Friday, December 12. “As I enter my 29th year as a more gentle and stronger version of myself, I want to acknowledge some of my favorite moments from this year, both big and small,” Steinfeld wrote before listing 29 things she’s grateful for. “29. The video in question featured the actress wearing a sweater emblazoned with the word “mother” along with her noticeable baby bump.
Steinfeld and Allen have been together since May 2023 and announced their engagement in November 2024.
“I was quite anxious. My biggest concern was you finding out about the proposal,” Allen later expressed in a December 2024 edition of Steinfeld’s “Beau Society” newsletter. “Keeping secrets from you and having others do the same was challenging. Several times throughout the day, a song would play, and I would get emotional thinking about how special our day would be.”
Allen has also emphasized that the couple is eager to start a family soon. “I said, ‘I couldn’t wait any longer.’ I was excited to begin a family with you,” he recalled. “I used your full name and asked very nicely. I said please.”
He continued, “You were incredibly surprised, you said yes, and that’s what mattered. And the sun was shining. It feels amazing to be engaged to someone so special, loving, and fun.”
In March 2025, a source close to the couple revealed exclusively to Us Weekly that both Steinfeld and Allen were on the same page about starting a family. “They are both excited about the prospect of starting a family and want that in the coming years,” the insider shared at the time. “They share similar values regarding parenting and having children.”
The couple wed in May 2025. By June, Allen remarked to reporters about his new wife, “She simplifies everything. I focus on what matters, and marrying her was the best choice I’ll ever make.”
Months later, in November 2025, Steinfeld shared with Bustle Magazine, “I thank God every day for finding my person; it’s the most incredible feeling in the world. Life makes so much sense now. I feel like I’m stepping into the version of myself I’ve always dreamed of, largely thanks to him.”
