Kate Middleton’s True Thoughts on Prince William’s Beard
What are Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales‘s true feelings about Prince William’s beard?
“She’s a fan,” revealed William’s former communications secretary, Jason Knauf, during a special episode of 60 Minutes Australia, where he discussed the royal’s facial hair.
“I love it. I think it’s great,” Knauf added. “I’ve tried talking to him about it, but he’s like, ‘It’s here. I have a beard. No further discussion.’”
When asked about Middleton, 43, and her supposed endorsement, Knauf stated: “If she didn’t like it, it wouldn’t be there. I can assure you of that!”
Kate Middleton delighted Irish Guardsmen and their families with an unexpected remark regarding Prince William, 42, and his facial hair during the St. Patrick’s Day festivities at Wellington Barracks in London on March 17.
While enjoying a pint of Guinness in her green Alexander McQueen coat and shamrock brooch, Middleton engaged with the commanders over the future King’s beard.
“These trends come and go,” she remarked. “I told my husband, I’m unsure how much longer he’ll keep it.”
William has sported a beard at various times, particularly during his military service, but he fully embraced the look starting in November 2024.
Recently, the Prince and Princess of Wales have been spending more time in the countryside, giving the monarch reason to embrace his rugged side.
“We are in Windsor at the moment,” Middleton explained, referencing their royal retreat, Adelaide Cottage, near Windsor Castle. “We used to be in London but moved here for more green space. It’s close enough to London, but not too far away.”
According to reporter Victoria Murphy in 2022: “The transition, as stated by a Palace source, was motivated by their wish to provide as normal a family life as possible. This move allows William and Kate to raise their children in a more pastoral setting away from central London and the busy environment of Kensington Palace, a popular tourist spot.”
