Marshals Cast Discuss Potential Departure from Yellowstone Spin-Off
Multiple Marshals stars have spoken out following rumors suggesting they might be leaving the Yellowstone spinoff series.
In the episode that aired on Sunday, May 24, Andrea (Ash Santos) received a job offer that would relocate her from Montana to Washington D.C. Meanwhile, Belle (Arielle Kebbel) and Cal (Logan Marshall-Green) found themselves in a dangerous situation after being ambushed, with Tom Weaver (Chris Mulkey) playing a critical role in the incident.
Despite the show being renewed for a second season, there was uncertainty about the fates of Belle and Cal. However, both Marshall-Green and Kebbel confirmed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that they have begun filming for season 2 and will be returning.
“I can confirm [Cal] is alive, but not necessarily unharmed,” Marshall-Green revealed to the publication following the episode. “I think everyone on the show is going through a lot by the end of this storyline. I’m just hours away from filming [season 2, episode 1], and I can assure you that we all face challenges — without giving too much away.”
Kebbel also commented, confirming, “Yes, I’m part of season 2. We’re starting filming [season 2] right where we left off in that [finale] moment. I’m already deeply immersed in season 2.”
The actress recounted her feelings after reading the finale script.
“After seeing such a significant cliffhanger, I wondered if Belle would survive! Yet, I’m accustomed to Belle being in dangerous scenarios almost every episode,” she admitted. “Even with both Belle and Cal in the mix, it felt like Cal, being in front, was in greater jeopardy. I was behind him, based on how we concluded the episode. So when I read it, I found myself thinking, ‘What’s going to happen to Cal?’”

Looking forward, Marshall-Green expressed his commitment to the show, stating, “I enjoy working! I value a consistent paycheck, and above all, I cherish this crew and cast. I could easily envision myself being a part of this show for many more years.”
He further added, “Now — where is the narrative most compelling, especially given the subject of cancer? I don’t want to soften it. I want Cal to truly experience it, as I think it’s important for those who return from service.”
Marshall-Green is optimistic about the creative direction of the show.
“Possibly, with advances in treatments, there might be a way to merge both realities. Ultimately, though, it’s about uncovering which stories remain to be told,” he continued. “That’s up to [creator] Spencer [Hudnut] and the writing team, including Luke [Grimes]. Luke has been embodying this role for quite some time. I believe I speak for everyone when I say we genuinely enjoy coming to work, and we put in the effort. The first season was quite a demanding shoot.”
Kebbel expressed her appreciation for the show’s accomplishments thus far.
“When viewers engage with a show like Marshals, I doubt they consider the art and effort involved, yet there’s a great deal of dedication that goes into it,” she reflected. “I’m incredibly thankful for our growing audience and for having so many crew members returning from season 1 to 2, allowing us to continue, ‘We’re in this together.’”
Marshals is currently available for streaming on Paramount+.
