Matthew McConaughey’s 15-Year-Old Daughter Bears a Striking Resemblance to Mom Camila at Event
Matthew McConaughey enjoyed a delightful outing with his daughter, 15-year-old Vida, attending a college basketball game together.
The 55-year-old actor and Vida were seen at the University of Texas women’s basketball game against the University of Tennessee on Thursday, January 24, where the Longhorns emerged victorious with a score of 80-76.
Dressed in a white T-shirt and jeans, McConaughey added a brown leather jacket and a star-shaped buckle belt to his outfit. His daughter Vida, looking remarkably like her mother, Camila Alves McConaughey, sported a cropped team top supporting UT, complemented with light-wash jeans. She styled her hair in loose waves and adorned herself with delicate gold jewelry.
Together with Vida, McConaughey and Alves McConaughey, 41, are also parents to sons Levi, 16, and Livingston, 12. The family resides in Texas, having moved from Los Angeles.
“During my time in romantic comedies, I found my niche; I enjoyed it, and it brought me financial success,” McConaughey shared in a November 2024 episode of the “Good Trouble With Nick Kyrgios” podcast. “I was so firmly established in that genre that Hollywood discouraged me from exploring other types of roles, including dramas that I was eager to pursue.”

He continued, “Since I wasn’t able to pursue the roles I wanted, I decided to step away from my career and move to my ranch in Texas. I made a commitment to my wife: I wouldn’t return to acting unless I was offered roles that intrigued me.”
As part of their Texas lifestyle, McConaughey frequently attends UT football games with his children.
McConaughey and Alves McConaughey have been happily married since 2012, often sharing insights into their family life.
“It’s fascinating because when you have young children, you tend to feel physically drained. But as they transition into their teenage years, it seems you require even more energy,” Alves McConaughey remarked in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly in July 2022. “You need to invest mental energy since it’s all about the mind at that stage; teenagers are seeking their identities and figuring out how to navigate life. It’s more challenging, but in a positive way.”
She further elaborated, “When it comes to guiding a young man or woman, it demands a different type of mental effort to lead or navigate through that. However, it’s a beautiful and inspiring journey. It also encourages you to reflect on your own actions as an adult. … It’s a truly enriching phase.”
