Nelly Furtado Embraces ‘New Heights of Self-Love’ in Bikini Selfie

Nelly Furtado has stepped into 2025 embracing her body with newfound confidence.

The 46-year-old singer took to social media on Sunday, January 5, posting two natural photos of herself in a vibrant neon orange bikini. The Instagram slideshow began with a full-length frontal shot and concluded with a side selfie.

Accompanying her stunning photos, the “Maneater” artist shared an insightful message reflecting on her journey through 2024. She mentioned, “This year, I became aware of the aesthetic pressures in my work like never before, while also discovering deeper self-love and genuine confidence from within.” Furtado elaborated on “taking legal action against a few fraudsters” who were reportedly spreading health and beauty myths about her.

Without going into further details regarding the legal matters, she shifted the conversation to her looks, mentioning her recent dental enhancements. “For those interested, I have never undergone any facial or body surgeries or enhancements, with the exception of recently getting veneers on my upper teeth,” Furtado clarified. “As of now, I haven’t received any facial or lip fillers or injections of any kind.”

She also revealed some of her long-practiced beauty tips, mentioning her visits to an “old school facialist” since she was 20, along with the importance of hydration and sleeping on her back to maintain a fresh appearance for red carpet events and photos.

“At times during red carpet events or photoshoots, my makeup artist utilizes face tape to enhance the lift of my eyes, skin, and makeup,” Furtado shared. “Sometimes, my stylist resorts to body tape to create specific silhouettes. Body makeup can also be strategically contoured for a desired effect. Makeup indeed works wonders! A great set of eyebrows and a talented hairstylist can do the same!”

Furtado — who is the mother of daughter Nevis Gahunia with ex Jasper Gahunia, as well as another daughter and son (whose names remain undisclosed) with ex Gerard Damien Long — expressed pride in her “spider veins.” “They remind me of my mom and aunties, and of life, which is why I’ve not let go of them so far ❤️.”

She wrapped up her heartfelt message with an uplifting note to her followers: “Express yourself freely, celebrate your uniqueness, and understand that it’s perfectly fine to appreciate what you see in the mirror, while also having the desire for change if you want it,” she advised. “We’re all just cute little humans on this earth seeking hugs.”
