Nelly Furtado Shuts Down Body-Shamers in ‘Better Than Ever’ Shirt in Manchester
Nelly Furtado appeared to respond to body-shamers in a creative manner during her performance in Manchester, England.
The 46-year-old singer made a bold fashion choice when she took the stage at Manchester Pride on Sunday, August 24. Furtado wore an oversized T-shirt with an hourglass figure design and the phrase “Better Than Ever” inked on her lower back. From the front, it looked like she was donning a blue bra, a white crop top, and a blue mini skirt, completed with black signet tights adorned with rhinestones and matching boots.
Her glam was as striking as her outfit, featuring dewy foundation, bright pink blush, smokey eyeshadow, winged eyeliner, and long lashes. Furtado styled her brown hair in a middle part, slicking it back into an updo, with the remainder braided.
To enhance her look, she accessorized with transparent earrings, purple fingerless gloves, and sparkling hair clips.
The artist previously showcased her daring fashion sense in a micro pleated skirt and a bra top at the Big Festival in Glastonbury, UK, accessorized with knee-high boots and layers of silver jewelry.

Furtado has been candid about embracing her curves and her “body neutral” philosophy. In January, she marked the new year by posting a bikini selfie on Instagram.
Her vibrant orange bikini featured structured cups and a halter top, complemented by high-waisted bottoms with lace-up sides.
“This year, I became acutely aware of the aesthetic pressures of my profession, while also experiencing new heights of self-love and authentic confidence from within,” she wrote. “For anyone interested, I haven’t undergone any facial or body surgeries or enhancements, apart from getting veneers on my upper teeth fairly recently.” Furtado went on to clarify that she hasn’t explored any “facial or lip injections or fillers” either.
“My New Year’s message for 2025 is to express yourself freely, embrace your individuality, and know that it’s perfectly fine to be satisfied with what you see in the mirror, while also being open to wanting something different,” she expressed. “We are all lovely little beings just bouncing around this earth in search of connection.”
