Celine Dion Brings Back Her Phoenix Heels to Embrace the Holiday Spirit
Céline Dion is undeniably a shoe enthusiast.
The 56-year-old star showcased her unique flair for footwear on Instagram on Tuesday, December 17, revealing her ability to pull off any shoe style, no matter how unconventional. Her eye-catching block heels were adorned with vibrant layers of yellow, orange, and red faux feathers shaped like flames. Crafted by Toronto set designer Caitlin Doherty on a commission from Scotiabank Arena, as reported by W Magazine, these custom-made shoes symbolize a phoenix rising from the ashes.
Dion, who previously shared a similar photo in 2019, complemented her whimsical heels with a stunning red sequin dress that highlighted her waist and showcased a daring thigh-high slit.
To enhance her glamorous look, the singer opted for smoky eyeshadow while posing in front of a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Her makeup was polished with perfectly shaped eyebrows and soft pink lips, while her chic bob was worn sleek and straight.
“To get into the holiday spirit, we played a round of ‘This or That’ with Celine.✨ Festivities have her in a bind — she just couldn’t choose — but you can!” Dion mentioned in her post.
Like many of us, Dion has a passion for shoes. She candidly discussed the (sometimes painful) lengths she goes to in order to obtain her desired pairs during her June 2024 documentary, I Am: Céline Dion.
“When a girl loves her shoes, she always makes them fit. I’ve worn shoes where my toes were like this,” she recalled, scrunching her fingers together, “because they didn’t have my size.”
Dion explained that when shopping, if asked for her shoe size, she responds, “No, you don’t understand. What size do you have? I’ll make them work. I’ll make them fit. I will walk the shoe. The shoe doesn’t walk me.”
“I’ve worn shoes with my feet like this,” she continued, again scrunching her fingers inward. If a shoe is too large, she adjusts her toes to grip the sole. “Give it to me. I love them,” she exclaimed, revealing that her collection includes over 10,000 pairs of shoes.
