Britney Spears Praises Son Jayden as a ‘Miracle and Genius’ Following Reunion
Britney Spears continues to feel ecstatic about reconnecting with her youngest son.
On Monday, December 30, Spears, 43, took to Instagram to express her admiration for son Jayden, 18, shortly after they celebrated Christmas together for the first time in several years.
“Mine forever !!!” she shared along with two photos of Jayden in a natural backdrop, dressed in loose jeans and an oversized maroon shirt.
The pop icon elaborated: “It’s strange how we’re like twins but he’s a boy and I’m a girl !!! He’s mine, and I hadn’t seen him in over 2 and a half years, maybe even 3 !!! I’m in disbelief !!! He returned feeling older and smarter than me !!! He’s a man now, and I cry every day because of how miraculous and brilliant he is !!! When he plays, the entire world feels it !!!”
Previously, Spears announced their holiday reunion on Instagram on December 25, posting a video featuring her and Jayden, whom she referred to as “my baby” before kissing him on the cheek.
“Best Christmas of my life !!! I haven’t seen my boys in 2 years!!!” she captioned the post. “Tears of joy, literally in shock every day, koo koo crazy, so in love and blessed!!!”
At the time, Spears said she was “speechless” when she saw Jayden. She shares him, along with her other son Preston, 19, with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Following her divorce from Federline, 46, in 2007, Britney was under a conservatorship managed by her father, Jamie Spears, for a significant portion of her children’s lives. This conservatorship ended in late 2021 after 13 years, after which Britney has faced a difficult relationship with her sons.
“I believe Mom has struggled with giving us both equal attention and love, and I feel like she didn’t show enough to Preston, which makes me really sad,” Jayden told the Daily Mail in 2022. “We have both faced a lot of pressure, and now this is our safe space to process the emotional trauma we’ve experienced and heal our mental state. When I complained, she would take it out on [my brother]. I feel guilty, so I make sure to be there for him. Mom has treated me better.”
Britney responded to Jayden’s comments at that time by writing on Instagram, “I want my son Jayden to know that I send all my love to you every day for the rest of my life.”
She added: “My love for my children knows no limits, and it truly saddens me to hear his feelings of not meeting his expectations as a mother… and perhaps one day we can sit down together and discuss this openly!”
Subsequently, Jayden and Preston moved to Hawaii with their father and his wife, Victoria Prince, along with their half-siblings in 2023. Jayden has since made his return to California.
“Jayden is back in California but does not reside with Britney,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in November. “All of his friends are still in California, and he wanted to return after graduating high school. Jayden reached out to Britney and initiated the conversation.”
The insider pointed out that Jayden is “open to repairing the relationship” with his mother.
“This process is going to take time and won’t lead to an immediate reconciliation. They’ve met each other twice, and those encounters were brief,” the source mentioned. “Britney was thrilled to hear from him. She hopes they can continue to spend time together and wishes Preston would also come around. She has felt a void in her heart from not seeing her sons. Jayden reaching out means the world to her.”
