Kylie Jenner Shares She Went Blonde for Just 24 Hours Earlier This Year
Kylie Jenner is not one to shy away from a significant hair makeover — even if it lasts just a day.
On Sunday, December 29, the 27-year-old superstar took to Instagram to reveal that her platinum bleach job earlier this year was a brief affair. She shared a selfie showcasing her hair soaking wet right after the transformation, marking a stark contrast from her usual dark brown locks.
“What a YEAR ! (went blonde for 24 hrs 🙂),” she wrote in the caption. “I can’t wait for 2025 🥳🥳🥳.”
Fans were just as taken aback as Us by Jenner’s surprise change and expressed their thoughts in the comments.
“YOU WENT BLONDE?! AND NO SELFIE TILL NOW?!?!?” one fan exclaimed, with another asking, “You did what?”
Others wished her blonde phase would last longer, commenting, “We need more blonde kylie,” and “BLONDE BOMBSHELL IS BACK FOR 24 HRS?!?”
Although Jenner didn’t showcase her blonde hair during the brief stint, she did sport a Marilyn Monroe-inspired wig while reviving her King Kylie phase this past summer.
In June, she shared a photo of herself flaunting a curly, voluminous wig styled with a side part and cut above her chin. “Did someone say they missed king kylie,” Jenner captioned the images, harking back to her 2015 era when she sported teal hair and was frequently in the limelight.
Apart from blonde, Jenner also donned a blue wig in September, prompting fans to reminisce about her iconic past looks. She later discussed bringing her blue hair out of retirement during her October interview with Elle.
“I had a free day,” she explained, mentioning that her glam team chose to have fun with the wig. “[King Kylie] will always be a part of who I am, but it’ll never be what it was when I was younger,” she added. “I probably would never wear lash extensions and thick eyebrows. Some trends I’ve simply outgrown.”
