Nick Viall’s Wife Natalie Experiences Second Miscarriage in Just Two Months
Nick Viall’s spouse, Natalie Joy, has experienced another miscarriage.
“While grieving the loss of our second baby at the start of this year, I unexpectedly discovered I was pregnant again,” Joy, 26, shared on her Instagram Stories on Sunday, March 23. “It took me some time to come to terms with what had happened, only to be given another opportunity so quickly and unexpectedly.”
Viall, 44, and Joy — who welcomed their daughter River Rose in February 2024 — disclosed in January that they had recently faced a pregnancy loss.
“Eventually, I found a great deal of happiness,” Joy continued on Sunday, reflecting on her journey after her first miscarriage. “We had finally reached a point of overwhelming gratitude. [Then], just last week, I suffered another miscarriage. This time, I underwent a D&C, which was tougher than I anticipated.”
Joy mentioned that it will “take some time” for her to feel like herself again.
“Honestly, I may never return to how I was,” Joy admitted. “I hope to share my journey with all of you as it unfolds.”
Joy also expressed her gratitude for the support she has received from Viall and River Rose during this difficult time.
“I’m going back to embracing my husband and my sweet angel River Rose, who are truly the reasons I have persevered through this time and time again,” Joy concluded on Sunday.
The former Bachelor, for his part, reposted Joy’s message on his Instagram Stories, along with several pictures of his wife enjoying time with River.
Viall and Joy, who married in 2024, shared on a January episode of their “Viall Files” podcast that the former nurse was “actively miscarrying” their second baby.
“This has been the most profound heartbreak of my life,” Joy tearfully revealed on the January 26 episode. “I’ve never felt such emptiness inside.”
She added, “Our doctor [was] able to confirm it was unviable, meaning it wouldn’t survive outside of your body. It provides some hope … if you concentrate on the science behind it, that’s what helps you cope. However, it’s incredibly hard because, as a mother, you feel everything. From the moment I saw that positive pregnancy test, I felt that baby inside me. Up until I lost it, it was so real.”
Joy further recounted that she felt “so empty” in the days following the loss of the pregnancy.
“I just don’t want to forget this baby,” she said. “I don’t want time to pass and for this baby to be just a fleeting moment in our lives.”
