Paige Spara from The Good Doctor Shares Update on Dog Attack Injury
The Good Doctor star Paige Spara is on the mend after being bitten on the cheek and lip by a dog.
“It’s been a little over a year, and the dog bite that impacted my cheek and upper lip is PRETTY MUCH HEALED,” Spara, 36, shared on her Instagram Stories on Thursday, March 5, along with a fresh selfie. “BONJOUR, AMEN.”
In another post, Spara revealed a “before” picture showcasing her facial injuries.
“RIP SCARESSSSSSSSSS,” the actress captioned her image, which revealed stitches under her left eye and in two areas close to her upper lip.
Spara has not divulged additional details regarding the dog incident. She is also a dog owner, frequently sharing photos of her pup, Sally, on social media. (It remains unclear if Sally is the same dog that bit Spara.)
“I start my day with a cup of coffee and journal to clear my mind,” she told Us Weekly exclusively in 2022 about her morning routine. “[Then], I take Sally for a long walk around the seawall in Vancouver while chatting with my mom.”
After her strolls with Sally, Spara would head to the set of ABC’s The Good Doctor. She portrayed Lea Dilallo from 2017 to 2024.
“Even during emotionally intense filming, I feel the happiest when we all come together,” Spara shared with Us.
The medical drama The Good Doctor, which ended in 2024 after seven seasons, also featured Freddie Highmore, Antonia Brown, Fiona Gubelmann, Noah Galvin, and Hill Harper.
“I absolutely love working with Hill,” she noted during that time. “His creativity keeps me on my toes, and I enjoy discussing life with him in between takes.”
The Good Doctor follows Shaun Murphy (Highmore), a doctor on the autism spectrum, as he navigates his medical training. In the storyline, Shaun falls in love with Lea, leading to their marriage and the arrival of their baby.
“One of my best friends is on the spectrum, which definitely attracted me to [the role],” Spara previously mentioned in an interview with NewBeauty in October 2022 about her involvement in The Good Doctor. “I was eager to participate in the dialogue exploring relationships between individuals on and off the spectrum.”
She also added, “I wanted to explore and portray what that dynamic looks like in the real world. I was truly excited about being part of that conversation.”
