Paul McCartney Shares Insights on His Performance at Taylor Swift’s Wedding
Sir Paul McCartney took to the stage at the glamorous summer wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce — a request made specifically by the bride.
“Occasionally, you might miss the email, which I’m sure you can relate to, but there are times I just give them a call and say, ‘Yeah,’ I’ve done that a few times,” McCartney, 83, joked during the taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Friday, October 2, discussing frequent performance requests. “[Taylor] asked me to do it.”
As per McCartney, Swift, 36, had a particular wish for him to sing The Beatles’ 1964 classic “I Wanna Hold Your Hand.”
“It was [her request], and since she was onstage, I suggested, ‘You should join in,’” he reminisced. “‘And you should sing it to your man, Travis!’”
McCartney was one of the notable attendees when Swift and Kelce, 36, exchanged vows at Madison Square Garden in New York City in July.
“[Our] wedding was the best night of my life,” Kelce expressed during an August press conference. “I’m thankful to everyone who joined us in celebrating and having a great time. That’s about all I can really say about that night. It was an incredible evening filled with joy.”
For Kelce, saying his vows in the iconic venue left him feeling particularly starstruck.
“MSG, man, I always dreamed of attending a playoff game when the [New York] Knicks were on fire, and my wife attended when I was caught up in minicamp,” Kelce noted, referring to Swift’s appearance at Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals. “I didn’t get that chance then, so it’s pretty amazing to fulfill my childhood dream of being able to get married in that place, the mecca of all sports venues.”
He went on to say, “I’m incredibly grateful to the owners of MSG for giving us this opportunity, knowing that we wanted a private event. The A/C was working perfectly, baby. That was the highlight.”
Swift, wearing a custom Christian Dior bridal gown for the celebration, has embraced her role as a proud wife as Kelce embarked on the 2026 NFL season. The “Patient Zero” artist has attended every one of Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs home games this fall, cheering enthusiastically, “That’s my husband,” when he scored a touchdown.
“You know what? Proud wife, baby,” Kelce said during a September 23 episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “I’ve got to make my girl proud.”
However, Swift was absent from Kelce’s September 27 away game to attend the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, as the couple showed support for each other from a distance. Kelce even clicked “like” on various coverage of his wife’s Tamara Ralph corset gown.
