Rick Domeier of QVC Honors Designer Joan Rivers

QVC host Rick Domeier will always cherish his time spent with the legendary Joan Rivers.

“She adored the QVC viewers and was passionate about her jewelry and fashion line,” Domeier, 65, reveals in Us’ exclusive sneak peek of the Thursday, August 13, episode of A QVC Story. “I believe the QVC audience will forever associate her with that. It was her life. She was deeply committed to her work, and I know she cherished the QVC viewer.”

For many years, Rivers showcased her eye for style through QVC with the Joan Rivers Classics Collection. The collection featured a diverse range of items, from clothing and jewelry to beauty products and fashion pins.

Despite Rivers passing in 2014 at age 81, shoppers can still discover fresh offerings from her brand.

“When we were invited to her funeral in New York … we exited the service to find crowds of people across the street,” Domeier reminisces in the clip. “Someone called out, ‘QVC.’ The barriers came down, and all these people rushed over because they knew Joan from her talk shows and various appearances, but they adored her because of QVC and that connection. Meeting those people who had a bond with Joan and QVC was incredibly moving.”

Domeier was accompanied at the funeral by fellow QVC hosts Kathy Levine, Lisa Robertson, Mary Beth Roe, Jill Bauer, and Jane Treacy.

“It was a day filled with music, tears, laughter (a lot of laughter), and profound gratitude,” Domeier wrote on Facebook in September 2014. “We shared over 20 years of memories while working with the one and only Joan.”

A QVC Story is a four-part documentary that explores the history of the shopping network in celebration of its 40th anniversary. In the latest episode, titled “The Shopping Revolution,” viewers will see how QVC embraced the digital age through the emergence of iconic hosts, including Mary DeAngelis, Sandra Bennett, Shawn Killinger, and Alberti Popaj.

In May 2025, Us caught up with Joan’s daughter, Melissa Rivers, during QVC’s TikTok Super Brand Day.

When asked about the Joan Rivers Classics Collection, Melissa, 58, expressed that she wasn’t surprised to see the brand continue to flourish.

“We strive to keep it current and vibrant,” she noted. “You always want to avoid becoming stale.”

As for why many hosts, like Domeier, enjoyed working alongside Joan, Melissa offered her insight.

“My mom was entertaining. She encouraged them to enjoy themselves. It was more than just selling; it was a conversation,” she explained. “My mom was passionate about designing, and she appreciated that someone allowed her to pursue something she loved, which truly connected with the QVC audience.”
