Robert Pattinson Talks About Eating Food from Jennifer Lawrence’s Trash
Robert Pattinson isn’t a fussy eater.
In response to Jennifer Lawrence’s story about feeding him food she salvaged from her trash one evening, the 39-year-old actor shared his thoughts during a Saturday, November 1, interview with Entertainment Tonight, released the next day.
“I thought it was delicious,” Pattinson, who stars alongside Lawrence, 35, in the upcoming film Die, My Love, remarked during the film’s New York City premiere at AMC Lincoln Square Theater. “She must have a really excellent trash haul.”
Lawrence recounted during an October 17 appearance on The Graham Norton Show how she fed Pattinson after inviting him over one night. “He arrives, I give him a hug, and he’s like, ‘Do you have any food? I’m so hungry,’ [and] while he goes to the bathroom, I remember I have food but it’s in the trash,” the Hunger Games star explained. “While he was in the bathroom, I was pulling food out of my garbage can.”
She mentioned that Pattinson enjoyed the food so much he asked for seconds. It was only then that she revealed its origin—though it didn’t bother him at all. “He was like, ‘Oh, I don’t mind,’ and just kept eating it,” Lawrence recalled, adding that her friends were simply there “kind of watching him eat this trash.”
During the New York premiere, Pattinson expressed how much he valued working with Lawrence. “I’ve always been a massive fan of hers. I didn’t realize how easy it would be… to be friendly and also how effortless it is to collaborate with her,” he told the outlet on the red carpet. “She’s so talented, so egoless… it’s kind of amazing, she’s just such a natural actress.”
In a rare appearance, Pattinson was joined at the premiere by his fiancée, Suki Waterhouse, who looked stunning in a floral gown by Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen with a green tweed skirt. She enhanced the glamour with a choker necklace featuring an ornate brooch.
Pattinson, the star of Mickey 17, looked equally sharp in a black-and-white Dior Men ensemble, which included a suit, vest, fringed scarf, and basket-weave sandals.
Die, My Love is scheduled for release on Friday, November 7, and tells the story of a writer named Grace, portrayed by Lawrence, who experiences psychosis and postpartum depression after the birth of her first child. Based on a 2012 Spanish novel by Ariana Harwicz, the narrative also follows Grace’s husband, Jackson, played by Pattinson, as he learns to adapt to his transformed wife.
Lawrence affectionately spoke of her co-star during her appearance on The Graham Norton Show, likening him to various cherished figures in her life. “Rob is one of the girls. He wants to gossip,” she shared, adding, “He’s also like my daughter. He’s a wonderful dad, he’s a professional, he shows up on time, but I wouldn’t trust him to, like, put on a coat. He brings out a very maternal side in me.”
Pattinson has one child, a 19-month-old daughter whose name remains private, with Waterhouse, 33. For her part, Lawrence is the mother of two sons, Cy, 3, and another child, 6 months old, whose name has also not been revealed, with husband Cooke Maroney.
