Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Surprise Daughter with Car for Her Sweet 16

The couple delighted their daughter, Charlotte, with a flashy new Jeep Rubicon for her 16th birthday, sharing a heartfelt message and photos of her new ride on Friday, September 19.
“16 years ago today, you made me a mom. I believe the saying goes … a daughter is just a little girl who grows up to be your best friend,” Gellar, 48, expressed in her Instagram caption, proudly showcasing their coming-of-age gift adorned with a big red bow.
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon starts with an MSRP around $47,550 for the two-door variant, according to the official site, while the four-door version begins around $52,050.
“Charlotte, you embody all of that and so much more. You are strong, inspiring, kind, funny (almost as hilarious as me 😉), and most importantly, you are one of a kind, the very best kind,” the Buffy the Vampire Slayer star added. “I’m so fortunate to claim you as my best friend. I’m just as excited to finally be your passenger PRINZEss ❤️.”
Charlotte not only has great taste in vehicles but Gellar also recently revealed to Us Weekly that her 16-year-old has a keen interest in fashion, particularly loving the Fendi baguette inspired by Sex and the City‘s Carrie Bradshaw.
“It’s one of the few items my daughter always wants to snag from my closet,” she told Us in September.
Gellar and Prinze Jr., 49, welcomed Charlotte in 2009, seven years after their wedding. They later grew their family with the birth of their son, Rocky James, in 2012.
The couple first crossed paths in 1997 while filming the original I Know What You Did Last Summer, and their friendship quickly evolved into a lasting romance. They got engaged in April 2001 and married the following year on September 1, 2002.
Just earlier this month, Gellar and Prinze Jr. celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary.
“23 years, 276 months, 1,196 weeks, 8,395 days, 201,480 hours, 12,088,800 minutes and 725,328,000 seconds, give or take…. But who’s counting?!?” they captioned a nostalgic photo from their wedding in a joint social media post, showcasing her stunning white gown, flowing train, and veil, along with his dapper white tuxedo.
