“There are so many logistical challenges when you have kids,” East noted. “It’s great that Amazon takes care of many logistical issues so parents can focus on their families. We often rely on Same-Day Delivery for daily necessities or last-minute gifts.”
As part of a promotional campaign for Amazon’s Same-Day Delivery service, the hosts of the Couple Things podcast experienced what it’s like to work as Amazon Flex Drivers for a day. They competed against each other to complete Same-Day Delivery orders in Nashville, Tennessee, their hometown.
“It was an enjoyable experience,” Johnson shared. “It was humbling and gave us a new appreciation for the work. We had the chance to explore the facility, witness the new hub, and see how the flex drivers and same-day delivery process works—from packaging to loading into vehicles. Delivering to kids and to a gymnastics gym was particularly meaningful.”
As parents with three young children, Johnson admitted that she finds herself relying on the Same-Day service “much more during the holidays,” when things become “more hectic and chaotic.” They have also turned to it for last-minute emergencies, like when they forgot to get a large dish for their Friendsgiving gathering.
