Simone Ashley’s Effortlessly Simple Date Night Makeup Routine

Simone Ashley is sharing her go-to makeup routine for a perfect date night.

The 29-year-old Bridgerton actress disclosed her “very straightforward” glam regimen in an episode of Vogue’s “Beauty Secrets” series, released on YouTube on Thursday, March 4.

Ashley began her routine with the La Mer The Energizing Gel Cleanser, which she adores “very much.”

“I didn’t grow up with a skincare routine,” Ashley confessed. “However, I prefer to keep things simple; otherwise, I feel like I am overwhelming my skin.” She then applied the Goldfaden MD Doctor’s Scrub Exfoliator around her nose and on her lips.

Vogue/YouTube Leighton Meester has a delightful (and reliable!) makeup routine. The 38-year-old actress shared her preferred makeup process during Vogue’s “Beauty Secrets” episode aired on Thursday, February 27. She commenced her routine by cleansing her face with the Ursa Major Fantastic Face Wash, ensuring she got into every pore with […]

Ashley, who has a combination of oily and dry skin, gently patted her skin with a towel before massaging the La Roche-Posay Lipikar Lotion Daily Repair Moisturizing Lotion into her complexion, concluding her skincare routine with the Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40.

“I was quite naive and thought I didn’t need sunscreen because I have dark skin,” Ashley elaborated, pointing out that “dark skin requires sun protection just as much.”

With her skin ready, she began her makeup application with the L’Oreal Paris Plump Ambition Hyaluronic Lip Oil instead of foundation, as she prefers to “watch the vision unfold.”

Ashley added color to her face with blush but instead of the usual technique, she used her favorite lipstick, the Armani Beauty Lip Power Long-Lasting Lipstick, dabbing it onto her cheeks.

She then filled in her brows, which she described as looking a bit “wild,” using a combination of L’Oreal Paris Infallible Never Fail Eyeliner and Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz.

Ashley expressed her enthusiasm for her color corrector, which she claimed “transformed [her] life” by effectively covering “shadows” on her face. She applied it around her nose, lips, and under her eyes.

She opted for the Urban Decay Hydromaniac Tinted Glow Hydrator as her base, as she dislikes the sensation of too much makeup on her face. “Less is more for me,” Ashley stated as she employed the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in the shade Walnut — a recommendation from a Bridgerton makeup artist — for under her eyes and around her mouth.

“Bridgerton feels incredibly transformative,” Ashley mentioned. “I show up at 5 a.m. in my pajamas, and a few hours later, I emerge looking like a viscountess, which is fantastic. We undergo such a transformation with the wigs, makeup, and costumes.” Ashley praised the glam team for imparting “so much” knowledge to her.

While she couldn’t drop any hints about season 4, she did reveal, “As the characters evolve, their hair, makeup, and costumes progress alongside them.”
