Sister Wives Sneak Peek: Kody Requests Robyn to Embrace His Monogamous Choice

In a sneak peek for Sister Wives, Kody Brown discloses that after experiencing three unsuccessful marriages, his focus is solely on his remaining wife, Robyn Brown — but is she willing to say goodbye to polygamy?

“Will you accept me as a monogamist?” Kody, 55, questions Robyn, 46, in an exclusive preview from Us Weekly for the upcoming TLC episode airing on Sunday, January 5. “Is that an issue?”

With tears in her eyes, Robyn takes a moment before she responds to her husband, assuring him, “I’m always going to stick with you.”

“I’m just going through an identity crisis,” she adds.

Robyn became Kody’s fourth wife in 2014 when they entered into a legal marriage. During this time, Kody divorced his first wife, Meri Brown, to adopt Robyn’s three children from a previous relationship. Following this, he entered a spiritual union with Meri, 53, similar to his connections with his second and third wives, Janelle and Christine Brown.

The Brown family’s foundation began to crumble in November 2021 when Christine, 52, decided to leave Kody after over 25 years of marriage. Janelle, 55, later announced her separation from Kody in December 2022.

Meri confirmed in January 2023 that she and Kody had ended their relationship after several challenging years. She quickly requested that their church “terminate” the marriage, a situation that was depicted on-screen during season 19 of Sister Wives.

Robyn has openly expressed the pain she has felt with her sister wives’ departures. She has shared that she once dreamed of aging alongside all three women and their children — a future that is now impossible.

“Yes, I will always stand by him, and I love him,” Robyn admits about Kody in the preview for Sunday’s episode, acknowledging, “This is not the life I envisioned.”

Robyn, who has two children with Kody, continues to tell him in the video that she feels “sort of stuck” amidst all the family turmoil.

Kody, for his part, tells Robyn that he seeks closure. “Whatever I’ve done in these marriages, they’re done,” he states. “Whatever occurred with them, I’m finished.”

The family patriarch elaborates, “I’m not going to mend things with Meri,” adding, “I’m not going to attempt to mend things with Janelle anymore. She’s through with me.”

Robyn seems taken aback by Kody’s remarks regarding Janelle, who, at the time of filming, was the only one of Kody’s ex-wives residing nearby in Arizona. (Christine moved to Utah and married David Woolley in October 2023, while Meri had Kody assist her in relocating to her bed and breakfast in Utah at the beginning of this season.)

“She told you she’s done?” Robyn inquires about Janelle. “Yes,” Kody responds. “Like [using] those words?” Robyn presses, to which Kody affirms, “Yes.”

Sister Wives airs on TLC on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET.
