Stud Muffin Unveils True Identity on ‘The Masked Singer’
In Season 13, Episode 8 of “The Masked Singer,” fans were treated to yet another unexpected revelation when Stud Muffin’s true identity was unveiled.
During the themed “Boy Band Night,” Stud Muffin performed the classic hit “Poison” by Bell Biv DeVoe but was ultimately eliminated and unmasked at the conclusion of the April 2 episode.
It turned out that Stud Muffin was none other than Method Man, a member of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan.
After the reveal, Method Man chatted with host Nick Cannon on stage, mentioning that his family would likely be “the most shocked” to see him dressed as the blueberry and banana muffin.
The rapper known for “C.R.E.A.M.” also speculated about whether his fellow Wu-Tang Clan members might have been tuning in, joking that the chances were slim to none.

“You know what? I’m not even going to say much because I don’t think they watch. We’re older cats,” he joked. “We’re just catching up to the internet.”
Throughout the season, Rita Ora accurately guessed that Method Man was Stud Muffin, and fellow judge Robin Thicke agreed with her assessment.
“When I hear his voice, it sounds like Method Man,” she mentioned in an episode.
“Good guess,” Thicke replied. “When I heard the voice—not just the voice, but he has a very distinct way of breathing sometimes.”
“He breathes through his teeth, and I could hear it when he rapped that he went sheeesh,” Thicke remarked with an example of the sound, noting that it’s a “very signature” Method Man mannerism.
In a clues video filmed for the season, Method Man shared his thoughts on why he loved his costume.
“Becoming Stud Muffin makes sense because I’ve had a muffin top for most of my life. And I’ve always said if I could have any dream job, it would be a mascot,” he stated. “You get people excited, and no one knows who you are, so that’s why I’m here as Stud Muffin to represent my team.”
On social media, viewers expressed their astonishment at seeing the Grammy winner inside the costume.
“I nearly choked on my sweet tea when I found out Stud Muffin is Method Man,” one individual posted on X. “I absolutely love The Masked Singer and try to guess who’s who each week. Never in a million years would I have figured that one out.”
“I never thought I would see Method Man in a muffin suit, singing and dancing to ‘Poison.’ I loved it.

A third user added, “Method Man being on The Masked Singer is wild. Watching rappers transition to family-friendly is my favorite thing to see.”
