The Evolution of Colton Underwood’s ‘Honeymoon Phase’ With His Husband
Colton Underwood and his spouse Jordan C. Brown may not be newlyweds, but the romance is still very much alive.
“The honeymoon phase evolves and transforms,” Underwood, 33, shared exclusively with Us Weekly while at the Human Rights Campaign Gala at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 22.
Underwood married Brown, 42, in May 2023. In September 2024, the couple expanded their family, welcoming their first baby, son Bishop, via surrogate, which has only enriched their “honeymoon phase.”
“Witnessing Jordan as a father is, like, the most amazing, attractive, enjoyable thing ever,” the former Bachelor expressed. “I can’t get enough of it. Seeing him in a completely new light, working together as a team to raise our child is just incredible.”
The reality star has also discovered more about himself since stepping into parenthood.
“I never truly understood the bond that could exist between fathers and sons until he was born, until I held him, until I was up at 3:00 a.m. giving him a bottle,” Underwood reflected. “It’s a privilege to be his dad.”
After six months with Bishop, Underwood shared that his family is celebrating the new adventures of parenthood each day.
“He’s rolling over. He got up on his knees today, like, he’s beginning to crawl,” the elated father shared. “We initiated him into solid foods last week. I feel like there’s a new milestone, a new journey, every week.”
Underwood admitted, “I want him to slow down. It’s wonderful that he’s achieving all these milestones, but I’m like, time is speeding by. What’s happening?”
Despite their busy life with the little one, Underwood mentioned to Us that they “definitely” wish to have another baby at some point.
“I absolutely want him [to have a sibling] and can envision him being a brother in the future,” he expressed.
Fans first met Underwood during season 14 of The Bachelorette, competing for Becca Kurfin’s affection. He later became the lead for season 23 of the show.
In the finale of The Bachelor, Underwood presented Cassie Randolph with his final rose, but they didn’t get engaged. The couple parted ways in May 2020 after nearly two years together.
Less than a year later, Underwood publicly came out as gay during an appearance on Good Morning America.
“I’ve been running from myself for a long time, and I’ve disliked myself for just as long,” Underwood shared in April 2021. “I’m gay. I accepted that earlier this year, and the next step was to let others know… I’ve never been happier or healthier in my life. That means everything to me.”
Underwood and Brown made their relationship public in September 2021 and got engaged in February 2022. The couple exchanged vows in a May 2023 ceremony in Napa Valley, California.
After welcoming their son the following year, the pair expressed on Instagram, “Our world is a million times brighter.”
