The View’s Alyssa Farah Griffin Welcomes First Child with Husband

UPDATE — 2/11/26, 12 p.m. ET: Alyssa Farah Griffin has welcomed her first child with husband Justin Griffin.

“First and foremost, we want to congratulate Alyssa and Justin on their baby boy’s arrival,” Whoopi Goldberg announced during the February 11 episode of The View, sharing that the newborn weighs 7 pounds and measures 19.5 inches long.

Alyssa Farah Griffin was absent from The View on Tuesday, February 10, and her cohosts couldn’t be more excited about the news.

Griffin, who is expecting her first child, went into labor just ahead of the live broadcast, as confirmed by Whoopi Goldberg during the show’s “Hot Topics” segment.

“She’s at the hospital right now!” Goldberg, 70, informed the audience, prompting cheers from her fellow panelists Sara Haines, Joy Behar, and Sunny Hostin. “We wish her all the best as she awaits her baby boy’s arrival.”

Goldberg encouraged the audience’s applause, adding, “Yeah, it’s really wonderful! Let’s welcome that baby!”

Joining The View in season 25 in 2021, Griffin announced her pregnancy in October 2025. The journalist confirmed during an episode of the ABC talk show that she and husband Justin Griffin underwent “five rounds” of IVF (in vitro fertilization) over a year prior to conceiving.

“Baby boy Griffin arrives this February,” Alyssa beamed during the program, revealing her baby bump to the audience. “I’m so relieved to finally share it. I can breathe.”

The former White House Communications Director expressed gratitude for her incredibly supportive husband while they awaited their baby’s arrival.

“I’m doing great! I couldn’t be happier,” said Justin, who married Alyssa in 2021, as he was spotted in the audience. “This is a monumental moment for our growing family.”

In the months that followed, Alyssa kept her followers updated on her pregnancy journey, including her absence from a December 2025 episode.

“Hey everyone! I’ve been under the weather with a stomach virus but I’m hoping to return to @theviewabs tomorrow,” she shared in her Instagram Stories on December 3. “It’s tough being sick while 6 [and a half] months pregnant!”

The TV personality also urged her followers to be mindful of their health during flu season. “Keep in mind that it’s that time of year — stay smart, use hand sanitizer, and stay home if you’re sick,” Alyssa advised.

As the baby’s due date approached, Alyssa received an outpouring of love from her cohosts through a surprise baby shower on air.

During the February 3 episode of The View, viewers saw Alyssa cherished by her colleagues with gifts and parenting advice.

“I’m so grateful,” Alyssa said, fighting back tears. “They say it takes a village, and knowing I have such a wonderful support system here, along with my amazing husband and family, means so much to me.”

Many stars welcomed new additions to their families in 2026 — or made their announcements for the first time. Former Bachelor contestant Sydney Warner shared in January that she had her second child with NFL star Fred Warner. They aren’t alone, as other celebrities are also welcoming little ones this year.

Goldberg then raised a glass and delivered a heartfelt toast to the expectant mother: “Here’s to health, happiness, and an abundance of love. Some sleep and plenty of laughter!”

Just a day later, The View’s executive producer Brian Teta confirmed to Deadline that Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Abby Huntsman would be returning to the show as cohosts during Alyssa’s maternity leave, planned to start after the live taping on February 13, ahead of her due date on February 19.

Savannah Chrisley will be the first guest cohost starting Tuesday, February 17, following the President’s Day weekend.

Viewers can also look forward to guest cohosts including Protect Democracy editor Amanda Carpenter, The Talk alum Sheryl Underwood, and comedian Whitney Cummings during Alyssa’s break.
