Jinger Duggar’s Daughters Struggle to Remember Many of Their Cousins’ Names
Jinger Duggar is opening up about how her daughters, along with her husband Jeremy Vuolo, navigate life within a large family.
On the Wednesday, January 1 episode of their “Jinger & Jeremy Podcast”, Duggar, 31, shared that they recently had brunch with “so many family members.” She expressed how wonderful it was for her daughters—Felicity, 6, and Evangeline, 4—to “spend time with their cousins because they absolutely adore them.”
“They forget a lot of names, and I feel like many of the cousins do as well—not just the kids, but the older ones too—the aunts and uncles,” she remarked. “There are just so many people to remember.”
Duggar and Vuolo reminisced about their eldest daughter feeling puzzled about their extended family. Duggar noted that their friend Christian Paul had announced a new baby, prompting Felicity to ask if she could watch it on his social media.
“She watched it a few times and then asked, ‘OK Mom, who is Christian Paul to me? He’s one of my uncles, right? Isn’t he one of my uncles?’” Duggar shared.
She described the interaction as “so funny,” adding how “confusing” it can be to understand family relations with “so many people” around.
“It’s difficult to recognize who your aunts and uncles are when your mother comes from a large family,” she stated. “And then with 19 siblings, you also have in-laws and all the nieces and nephews. It becomes hard to determine who’s related, especially with friends who feel like family but aren’t technically family.”
Jinger is the sixth child of Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar, who gained fame from the show 19 Kids and Counting. The show aired for 15 seasons before concluding in 2015. (Jinger and some siblings were later featured in the spinoff Counting On, which was canceled in 2021.)
Jinger married Vuolo in 2016. They announced in October 2024 that Jinger is pregnant with their third child after having experienced a miscarriage previously.
“I know many people share the news sooner … [but] there were a few factors we considered,” Jinger explained on a podcast episode. “I had a miscarriage between my daughters, which happened around six and a half weeks in. I wanted to wait until the second trimester to make the announcement.”
As they prepare for their third child’s arrival, the couple expressed their enthusiasm for the gender reveal. “This time, we already know the gender because we did a blood test,” Jinger said. “It was quite incredible how we discovered it, and we can’t wait to share it with you all later because it was truly amazing.”
