Unaired Scene from Survivor Showcases the Alliance Between Ana and Carter

The captivating allure of Survivor largely stems from its remarkable ability to unite individuals from diverse backgrounds as they collaborate to vie for the $1 million grand prize.

In the latest season, Survivor 51, it seems that Ana Sani and Carter Krull have formed an unexpected yet powerful alliance.

In an exclusive scene shared with Us, which did not appear in the episode aired on Wednesday, September 30, Ana—a voice actor from Toronto—and Carter—a livestock farmer from Sioux Falls, South Dakota—forge a significant connection that could alter the course of the game.

“Carter and I are like a big sister, little brother duo,” Ana, 34, shares in a confessional. “We couldn’t be more different in our lifestyles. He’s a farmer operating a 600-acre farm with his family. Meanwhile, I’m a city girl living in a cozy 380-square-foot apartment with my small Pomeranian, doing voiceovers for films.”

She further expressed, “I share everything with him, and I believe he does the same with me. Our bond is incredible.”

Carter, too, feels the authenticity of their relationship.

“The connection I have with Ana feels very natural,” says the 24-year-old farmer. “I can’t even explain how it formed. It’s just one of those situations where we seem to be on the same wavelength.”

Carter also mentioned a previous Survivor duo as an inspiration for the partnership he hopes to build with Ana.

“When I arrived here, I aimed for a Kyle-Kamilla situation and immediately clicked with Ana,” he noted, referencing Survivor 48 champions Kyle Fraser and Kamilla Karthigesu. “She’s the player I want to team up with, no matter what. In this game, having someone you can rely on is crucial; otherwise, you’re in trouble. She’s my trusted ally.”

The clip showcases the pair in a private moment on the beach, where Ana cautions Carter about taking unnecessary risks, pleading with him not to be “med-evaced.”

“Could you, like, be a bit safer?” she implores. “Because I really need you.”

They discuss the possibility of reaching the finale together, each affirming that they’re each other’s “No. 1.”

“I’ll probably win, and you’ll come in second,” Carter quips, before quickly adding, “Or the other way around.”

Across 51 seasons, Survivor has adapted through various twists and format changes, yet the necessity for solid alliances remains unchanged. With the current season marking the start of the so-called Open Era—where any twist in the series’ history can emerge—having a trustworthy partner is more vital than ever.
