Travis and Donna Kelce Offer Support to Jason and Kylie Following Their Dog’s Passing
Travis Kelce and his mother, Donna Kelce, are extending their love and support to Jason Kelce and his wife, Kylie Kelce, following the loss of their dog, who passed away at the age of 7.
On Saturday, March 22, Kylie, 33, shared the sad news in an Instagram post, revealing that their beloved pet, Baloo, had recently died. Both Travis, 35, and Donna offered their heartfelt condolences in the comments.
Travis commented, “😢😢.”
Travis, who plays tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, and Jason, who retired from the NFL in 2024, are the sons of Donna and her ex-husband, Ed Kelce. Their mother also shared her feelings in the comments, writing, “My heart goes out to you!!!!”
Jason and Kylie, who are parents to three daughters and expecting another, had two Irish Wolfhounds named Winnie and Baloo. (Winnie passed away in 2024.)
“When I told the girls that Baloo was going to leave us, Ellie asked where he was going,” Kylie shared on Saturday, referring to her 3-year-old daughter. “I explained that he was going to heaven, and without hesitation, she responded, ‘Oh! He’ll get to be with Winnie again! They’ll be so happy to see each other!’”
Kylie further expressed, “We were fortunate to have 7 wonderful years with the goofiest, sweetest, most lovable, and tolerant dog I’ve ever known. He lived for carbs and affection. He was a simple soul, held together by bubble gum and paper clips.”
Kylie noted that her “heartbreak is immense” following the loss of their cherished family member.
“As Ellie so beautifully pointed out, the reunion with Winnie must be pure magic,” she concluded. “We miss you already, Bubbies.”
Baloo’s passing occurred nearly a year after Winnie had died.
“In high school, I had a folder on my computer labeled ‘God’s gift to earth’ filled with images of Irish Wolfhounds I found online,” Kylie reminisced via Instagram in March 2024 while mourning Winnie. “My admiration for the breed started young and never faded. This journey led me to Winnie, and she truly exceeded all my expectations.”
At the time, Kylie humorously mentioned that she referred to Winnie as her “firstborn child,” a sentiment echoed by her 5-year-old daughter Wyatt.
“[Wyatt and I] were discussing my current pregnancy, and she said, ‘Well, you had a baby before me,’” Kylie recalled on a February episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “I was taken aback, and she clarified, ‘Winnie,’ since I’ve often referred to Winnie as my firstborn child, my oldest daughter believes I carried the Irish Wolfhound!”
