The singer of “Lover” has always openly expressed her affection for her pets, Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson, named after some of her beloved fictional characters. In 2019, while filming a music video, the Nashville native welcomed her third cat, Benjamin Button.
In an interview with TIME back in April 2019, the Grammy award-winning artist revealed that her cuddly kittens are the “most influential factor” in her life. “I have cats. I’m obsessed with them,” she stated. “They bring such joy to my life.”
Despite their rocky history of “Bad Blood,” Swift and fellow cat enthusiast Katy Perry both share a love for their furry friends. In April 2022, Perry announced on Instagram the passing of her beloved pet, Kitty Purry.
“Kitty Purry came into my life through my then-boyfriend’s window 15 years ago, fully pregnant and looking for a safe place,” Perry reminisced on Instagram. “Thank you, Kitty, for the cuddles and companionship throughout our journey.”
