Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton Remember Their Beloved 18-Year-Old Dog Who Passed Away

Gwen Stefani is grieving the loss of her and husband Blake Shelton’s beloved 18-year-old dog, Betty.

“With the heaviest hearts, we announce that our sweet Betty has gone to heaven 💔🕊️🐾. She brought us joy for 18 wonderful years,” the No Doubt singer, 56, shared via Instagram on Saturday, September 5.

The post showcased a musical montage that highlighted some of the Rottweiler mix’s most endearing moments with Shelton, 50, Stefani, and her children – Zuma, Apollo, and Kingston. The video was accompanied by the couple’s duet “Nobody But You,” which included a memorable cameo from Betty.

“[Betty] made us all smile for 18 years… we will miss her forever. Thank you, Betty, for all the love and joy you brought into our lives,” Stefani added.

Many of Stefani’s fans expressed their condolences and offered words of support in the comments section of her Instagram post.

“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry to hear about Betty… losing a pet is so difficult. Wow, 18 years… she truly lived her best life! My prayers are with you both. Love you,” one follower commented.

Another fan shared their own experience, stating, “My heart aches for you. I recently went through this with my girl of 13 years. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.”

“We all feel like we know Betty from the countless videos and pictures. She was such a wonderful family member, dog, and friend. Rest in peace, Betty, until you all meet again,” a third follower replied.

Betty was initially Shelton’s dog before he began his relationship with fellow Voice coach Stefani. In a 2020 interview with CMT, the “Let Him in Anyway” singer shared that Betty quickly warmed up to Stefani.

“She gets jealous,” Shelton remarked about his dog. “She’s now Gwen’s dog, and that’s where the jealousy stems from.”

Stefani interjected, stating, “She loves both her parents very much.”

The couple also has a mixed-breed dog named Ginger and a rescue cat called Corn Shelton. In 2024, Stefani shared via Instagram that they adopted the cat after it appeared on their property.

“The day he arrived at our home, he was barely alive and very sick,” Stefani explained in a video at that time. “But with love and care, he turned into a healthy kitten.”

She added, “We’re incredibly grateful to have him as part of our family.”

Stefani and Shelton wed in a small ceremony at his Oklahoma ranch in July 2021. (Stefani was previously married to Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale from 2002 to 2016. Shelton was married to his first wife, Kaynette Gern, from 2003 to 2006 and later to fellow country music star Miranda Lambert from 2011 to 2015.)
