Travis Kelce Pays Tribute to Taylor Swift with Special Menu Item at New Restaurant
Travis Kelce will incorporate a subtle tribute to his fiancée, Taylor Swift, when his new restaurant opens.
Kelce, 35, alongside Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes, is gearing up for the launch of their 1587 Prime steakhouse in Kansas City, Missouri, next month. They are teasing some delicious food and drinks through the eatery’s Instagram account.
On Thursday, August 28, the 1587 Prime Instagram posted a video featuring Kelce and Mahomes, 29, tasting a cocktail named “The Alchemy,” which coincidentally shares its name with a football-themed track from Swift’s 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, released last year.
“This is The Alchemy,” a bartender can be heard announcing as he presents the football players with a cocktail blended with cucumber, orange peel, and rose buds.
Swift’s song “The Alchemy” seems to draw inspiration from her relationship with Kelce. The track serves as a tribute to a budding romance and is rich with football imagery of touchdowns, winning streaks, and trophies.
“So when I touch down / Call the amateurs and / Cut ’em from the team / Ditch the clowns, get the crown / Baby, I’m the one to beat,” Swift sings in the song. “Cause the sign on your heart / Said it’s still reserved for me / Honestly, who are we to fight the alchemy?”
Regarding 1587 Prime, the Kansas City restaurant is set to open on September 17.
Kelce’s sweet tribute to Swift follows their engagement announcement on Tuesday, August 26.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” the couple shared in a joint Instagram post featuring the moment Kelce proposed.
Kelce adorned the singer with a stunning old mine brilliant cut diamond set on a gold band that features additional small stones. The ring was crafted by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry.
Jewelry expert Nilesh Rakholia estimated the ring’s value to be between $950,000 and $1,270,000. “The stone appears to be in the 7–10 carat range, positioning it among the most iconic celebrity engagement rings,” the Abelini founder shared with Us Weekly.
Swift showcased her engagement ring on August 28 while the newly engaged couple attended a college football game at the Chiefs’ home stadium, Arrowhead Stadium, in Kansas City.
