Vanderpump Rules Season 12 Cast: Introducing the New SUR Staff After the Makeover
Vanderpump Rules is experiencing significant cast changes—who will take the lead in season 12?
Bravo struck gold when Vanderpump Rules debuted in 2013 as a spinoff of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. It quickly evolved into a cultural phenomenon with a largely consistent cast throughout its seasons, until Tom Sandoval’s breakup with Ariana Madix over his affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, which cast uncertainty on the show’s future.
Initially, Bravo paused production on season 12 after tensions arose among the cast post-Scandoval. In November 2024, the network revealed a completely new cast would step in after 11 seasons. Following the drama surrounding the SURevers, executive producer Alex Baskin hinted at how Vanderpump Rules has transformed with this recasting.
“We’re working on it. We’re excited. It’s back to our basic principles,” Baskin shared during a June episode of the “LadyGang” podcast. “It’s a group of individuals who are genuinely friends in their 20s, working and doing everything together.”
Baskin expressed his enthusiasm for longtime fans to embrace this fresh start. “It’s the low-stakes yet high-intensity fun ride that I adore,” he remarked. “While it resembles the original very little—aside from SUR and Lisa [Vanderpump] overseeing it—there’s that life phase once again.”
Baskin even addressed concerns from those skeptical about the new cast.
“I appreciate that people are doubting us,” he confessed. “I enjoy the skepticism. I want viewers to watch and fall in love against their better judgment. I believe they will. It’s a big responsibility to fill the previous cast’s shoes, but it’s going wonderfully. I’m very eager to unveil it.”
