Why Candace Cameron Bure No Longer Shares Bathing Suit Photos Online

Candace Cameron Bure has been in the spotlight since her childhood, yet she’s not at all comfortable with public scrutiny regarding her body.

“While I feel confident and secure in who I am, there’s always a pressure [to appear a certain way],” Cameron Bure, 49, told Us Weekly on Tuesday, November 4, while promoting her new book, Rise and Renew: A 30-Day Devotional to Heal a Hurting Heart, Overcome Emotional Pain, and Grow in Your Faith – Interactive Devotions with Bible … and Creative Exercises (One Step Closer), which discusses her views on aging gracefully, her relationship with God, and daily resets.

Cameron Bure acknowledged the challenge of rising above Hollywood pressures, stating, “I do feel great.” She added, “If my husband thinks I look good, then that’s all that matters.”

The Full House star values her bond with fans, but emphasized her effort to circumvent body criticism. Earlier this year, she faced backlash after sharing a photo of herself in a one-piece swimsuit on social media.

She eventually removed the post, explaining to her Instagram followers in September that it was about “soaking up the end of summer” and “having fun.”

Reflecting on the experience, Cameron Bure noted that deleting the controversial image was the easier option.

“People will always have opinions, and sometimes you forget that in the moment you’re sharing a happy moment,” she recalled. “Then you think, ‘Oh, why did I share that?’”

Regarding the swimsuit photo, she explained, “I felt it was simpler to take it down because I don’t want any controversy surrounding it.”

Cameron Bure admitted, “I don’t need people analyzing my body. I’d rather remove it so they can’t comment on that aspect of my life, and that’s okay.”

Despite some online criticism, Cameron Bure asserted that she still feels “like I’m 30” as her 50th birthday approaches. (She will celebrate this milestone in April 2026.)

“I think I’ll always feel like I’m 30. When I think about my actual age, I’m like, ‘Am I really that old?’” she laughed. “I guess I’m trying to get excited about turning 50. I’m not sure how I feel, but I’m attempting to be enthusiastic.”

While Cameron Bure is not entirely convinced about embracing 50, she is preparing for future challenges.

“I’m getting in the best shape of my life,” she mentioned to Us. “I want to step into this next decade feeling strong and healthy, as I know many things are coming my way, and I want to handle them as effectively as possible.”

Along with her fitness aspirations, she hinted that there’s one thing she aims to leave behind in her 40s.

“I want to leave behind the cystic acne that still affects me. I don’t want to carry that into my 50s,” she joked. “I’m baffled as to why I’m getting it in my 40s. I suspect it’s only going to worsen.”

Beyond focusing on her physical health, Cameron Bure has been nurturing her spiritual self and her relationship with God. Writing her new book, Rise and Renew, is a way for her to share her faith while documenting her personal journey.

“It’s a 30-day devotional designed for readers to spend about five to ten minutes engaged with the word,” Cameron Bure explained to Us about the book, which will be released this month. “It includes scripture from the Bible as well as some of my personal reflections.”

The Timeless Tidings of Joy actress mentioned that while she doesn’t engage with a devotional “every day,” it remains an important part of her life.

“It’s a time for prayer. It’s my time spent with God that helps reset my mornings,” she elaborated. “I can make all the plans in the world, but I truly want God to direct my path, and I achieve that by resetting every morning.”

This practice is what she hopes her readers will incorporate into their own lives.

“Waking up every morning, renewing our minds with the truth of who God says we are, and recognizing who He is, can significantly change our day,” Cameron Bure added. “It’s all about taking our thoughts captive and entrusting them to God, allowing us to move forward with those reflections in mind.”
