‘Vanderpump Rules’ Teaser Reveals EP’s Take on ‘Chaotic’ Drama

Raise your glasses high because Vanderpump Rules is returning sooner than fans might expect.

“It’s not too far away,” said Bravo’s executive producer Alex Baskin in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published on Thursday, July 24. “I can say there’s a lot of dating and hookups within the group. The friendships are deep, making it messy and complicated yet really fun.”

While the cast and premiere date have not been officially revealed, Bravo surprised fans on Friday, July 25, by dropping the first teaser for season 12.

“New shift. Same rules,” the network teased on Instagram with a brief clip featuring Lisa Vanderpump. “#PumpRules Season 12 shakes things up soon🍸.”

If Baskin’s insights are accurate, any doubts from devoted fans will vanish once the show airs.

“I can’t wait for it to premiere and for the skepticism to transform into enjoyment,” he noted. “I’m thrilled for the audience to experience a series that retains the essence of the original while feeling entirely fresh.”

Earlier this summer, cameras spotted several potential cast members, including Demyana Selem and Jason Cohen, filming for the new season. Crews were also seen at Vanderpump’s annual World Dog Day celebration in West Hollywood this past May.

According to Baskin, the forthcoming season is poised to look and feel distinct from earlier seasons.

“We’re not trying to replicate what we did previously; instead, we’re returning to the fundamental principles of the show, centering around a group of interconnected coworkers and friends at SUR,” he explained. “This new group is indeed different—they’re the 2025 version. You’ll notice that Gen Z and their interactions reflect contemporary realities, yet it still delivers all those fun, juicy elements.”

The Vanderpump Rules franchise first launched in 2013 as a spinoff from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Scheana Shay, Katie Maloney, Tom Sandoval, Kristen Doute, Jax Taylor, and Stassi Schroeder deserve recognition for helping to kick off one of Bravo’s top series.

In November 2024, however, the network announced a completely new cast would take the reins after 11 seasons.

“I understand the skepticism,” Baskin remarked. “To the audience, this may seem like an attempt to introduce imposters, but I encourage everyone to hang in there and give us a chance. I believe they will be pleasantly surprised; the show has come together naturally, and it captures the fun and dynamics we enjoyed in the early days of Vanderpump Rules contrasted with the later life stages seen in later seasons.”
