Michelle Duggar Rallies Behind Jessa Duggar During Her Labor for Baby No. 6
Jessa Duggar welcomed her sixth child with the support of her mother, Michelle Duggar.
During a YouTube vlog shared on Saturday, August 2, Jessa, 32, revealed, “I’m having contractions every three to five minutes,” while walking up and down the stairs at her mother’s home in Arkansas.
In a later clip, Jessa was seen in a hospital bed, flanked by Michelle, 58, and a midwife.
Jessa, expecting her sixth child with husband Ben Seewald, is among the 19 children of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar. The Counting On matriarch rarely misses any of her daughters’ births.
“She’s only missed two, but she’s been there for each of ours,” Jessa’s sister Jinger Duggar, a mother of three, mentioned on an April podcast episode. “My son Finn marks grandbaby No. 37 for our parents, which is crazy to consider.”
Jinger, 31, and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, reside in Los Angeles and welcomed their baby Finn in March.
“She arrived a week early, stayed for a week and a half after, and is incredibly dedicated,” Vuolo, 37, said regarding his mother-in-law’s support during and after childbirth. “She comes to help, taking care of everything you need in the morning. She wakes up before all of us. It’s so sweet.”

Earlier this year, Jinger and Jessa were briefly pregnant at the same time. Jessa’s Saturday vlog concluded without showing the birth of her latest child, focusing instead on the early stages of labor.
“My due date is tomorrow,” Jessa noted in a video recorded on July 24. “I had an OB visit a few days ago, and I was dilated to 2 centimeters and 50 percent effaced. I lost my mucus plug a few days back, but otherwise, no signs of labor. Just waiting it out.”
The former 19 Kids and Counting star indicated that she attempted to induce labor with curb-walking.
“I gave it a go, [but] I haven’t seen much of a difference,” Jessa mentioned. “I’m still experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions. In my previous labors, I’ve always felt contractions primarily in my back. Thus far, I haven’t had any actual contractions, so I’m just waiting.”
Jessa and Seewald, 30, are also parents to sons Spurgeon, 9, Henry, 8, and George, 18 months, along with daughters Fern, 5, and Ivy, 3. They chose not to reveal the sex of baby No. 6 before the birth.
