David Beckham Creates Homemade ‘Beckjam’ for Victoria Beckham
Meghan Markle isn’t the only star who enjoys making jam — David Beckham may just take the lead in this culinary competition.
“We spent the weekend cooking,” Victoria Beckham, David’s wife, shared in a video posted on her Instagram Stories on Sunday, September 7. “Well, you did. I just watched as you made plenty of jam from the plums [in our garden].”
Victoria, 51, encouraged David, 50, to showcase his creations because he’s been “so proud” of his efforts.
“David Beckjam,” she joked, pointing to a jar of preserves that cleverly played on their surname.
David humorously remarked that the title was indeed “original,” while Victoria wanted to know how many jars had been created thus far.
“Look, he even got out his little label maker,” Victoria teased as David rummaged through a cooler for more jars. “David Beckjam 1, 2, and we have a whole … lot! I love you! Are you quite the entrepreneur?”
David, on the other hand, responded with a firm “no,” denying any aspirations to become a jam entrepreneur.
Meghan, 43, began crafting her homemade jam in 2024 under the brand American Riviera Orchard, later rebranding it to As Ever.
“I had secured As Ever as a name back in 2022, and as things evolved last year with the introduction of a partner, it became fascinating,” the Duchess of Sussex shared on her “Confessions of a Female Founder” podcast. “I mentioned I liked American Riviera as a broader name, with the potential for specific lines underneath it, making ‘Orchard’ a smaller focus.”
Meghan continued, “Suddenly, it became a jumble of terms. I wasn’t fond of that, so I thought, ‘Let’s revert to the name I’ve always cherished. Let’s stick with the name I protected for a purpose that had been kept under wraps.’ This quiet period allowed us to hone our focus and build something without distraction, which was incredibly helpful.”
Before launching her As Ever products, Meghan gifted jam jars to friends in the spotlight, including Abigail Spencer, Serena Williams, and Kris Jenner.
“It was just, ‘Let me share them,” she recounted on a Season 1 episode of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan. “And then, people began to take it quite personally.”
