How Kylie Jenner Coping with Her ‘Severe’ Breakouts

Kylie Jenner is sharing insights on how she takes care of her skin despite dealing with pesky breakouts.

“My morning skincare routine has remained pretty consistent for a while now. I started experiencing significant breakouts when I turned 27. Over time, I’ve managed to gain control over my skin, and my routine has been steady for the past few years,” Jenner, 29, openly expressed in a YouTube video on Sunday, August 23. “I begin each morning with a gentle cleanser.”

The Kardashians star mentioned that she has a “few different” gentle cleansers but ultimately opted for the Sofie Pavitt Facial Cleanser in the video, applying it before her serum.

“As I enter the last year of my 20s, I’m focusing on straightforward, effective skincare,” she stated, before applying an oil-free moisturizer. “This one doesn’t cause breakouts, which is crucial since I’m easily affected by moisturizers. It’s lightweight and sits nicely under makeup.”

Next, Jenner reached for a Kylie Cosmetics Supple Glaze Primer, revealing that her “makeup tip for 2026, which she’s absolutely obsessed with,” is the use of primer. She also underscored the significance of sunscreen and how she has modified her spray tan routine due to her breakouts.

“As I turn 29, I never skip sunscreen,” she emphasized. “I always extend it down my neck to blend it in. Since I frequently get spray tans, I use a slightly darker shade. Once my acne worsened, I stopped spraying my face because it felt like it was clogging my pores.”

While doing her makeup, Jenner shared that she tends to “stick to the same look lately” as she knows “what works for my face and what makes me feel my best.” One part of her routine she has enjoyed is applying mascara to her lower lashes, a practice she shied away from for a time due to influence from her sister Kendall Jenner.

“I’ve really gotten into bottom mascara. Kendall had me avoiding it for a few years because I used to think, ‘Oh, I love how I look without bottom mascara.’ She said, ‘I never wear bottom mascara.’ I was like, ‘What have I been doing all these years?’” Kylie reminisced. “Now, I’m totally obsessed again. I find it really sexy and I love the doll-like effect it creates.”

As the video wrapped up, Kylie expressed her desire to continue sharing her life on YouTube.
