How Candace Cameron Bure Played a Role in Her Daughter Natasha’s Proposal

Mothers have an innate sense, and for Candace Cameron Bure, she certainly understood what her daughter Natasha Bure would appreciate when actor Bradley Steven Perry proposed.

“I’m still amazed you were completely taken by surprise,” Cameron Bure, 49, commented on Natasha’s Instagram on Saturday, September 20. “Meanwhile, I was texting with Bradley daily between scenes, coordinating our family’s presence. You two are adorable!!”

Natasha, whom the Full House star shares with husband Valeri Bure, married Perry, 26, earlier this month. The couple kept their engagement private after dating for a year.

“This was the biggest shock of my life,” Natasha said in a social media video released on Saturday. “I knew an engagement was likely. We had talked about it and even went ring shopping together.”

While Perry did not disclose his proposal plans ahead of time, Natasha made it clear that having her family present was crucial for her. (Cameron Bure and Valeri, 51, also have sons Lev, 25, and Maksim, 23.)

“I received an email from my management team,” Natasha recalled, referencing a fake invitation to a brand event in April. “When I got the invite, [Bradley] said it probably wouldn’t work out for us to go. We already had commitments for a project during that time.”

Ultimately, Natasha and Perry, a former Disney Channel star, decided to attend the faux event after fulfilling their work responsibilities.

“The gathering was an hour away at a hotel,” she explained. “Bradley pulled over in a little side parking lot outside [and] I put on my makeup in five minutes. I changed into this two-piece yellow outfit, thinking it was for the spring event.”

However, Perry needed to buy some time before moving forward with their plans.

“The challenge was that her parents were still about 10 minutes away. They had flown in and drove two hours to where we were getting engaged,” Perry mentioned in Natasha’s video. “They got stuck in awful traffic. I had to stall for 10 minutes. All I could think was, ‘Honey, I’m going to lose it.’”

After a quick stop at the restroom, Perry led Natasha to a beautifully decorated path—the ring box in hand.

“As we approached this lovely little bungalow, I thought we were heading to the event,” Natasha recounted. “As we got closer, he asked, ‘Did you see the sign?’ There was a small sign on the door that read, ‘Wife, yes [or] no?’”

Upon reading the sign, Natasha turned back to find Perry down on one knee, the ring box now open, before she answered with a “yes.”

“Then we had a lovely event organized by his parents, and all our family was there. We took photos and celebrated. It was the perfect day.”
