Jon Bon Jovi Shares His Thoughts on Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi’s Baby News
Jon Bon Jovi is thrilled to be the grandfather of Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi’s newborn daughter.
“It’s wild but amazing. Truly wonderful,” Bon Jovi shared about his grandfatherly role during a conversation with influencer Bunnie XO in a teaser clip of their interview posted on TikTok on Sunday, September 21. “They adopted a girl, we obviously met the baby, and from that moment, she becomes your grandchild. You know what I mean? Your baby. It’s just beautiful. I want to see pictures every couple of days. I’m already that annoying grandparent, and yeah, it’s awesome.”
The delighted grandfather also commended his new daughter-in-law for her dedication.
“They married quite young, but we approved because we understand — they’re somewhat mature for their age,” he added. “She comes from a family where her parents are still together and married young. She and Jake fell in love, and we thought, OK, we’ll support this, and it’s turning out well.”
The Bon Jovi frontman, aged 63, shares Bongiovi, 23, with his wife, Dorothea Hurley. The couple, married since April 1989, are also parents to daughter Stephanie, 32, and sons Jesse, 30, and Romeo, 21.
Bongiovi and Brown, 21, announced their first-time parenthood in a joint Instagram post on Thursday, August 21.
“This summer, we welcomed our lovely baby girl through adoption,” they wrote. “We’re beyond excited to start this beautiful chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were three.”
The news of their baby came over a year after they wed in May 2024. Since then, Brown has been vocal about her aspirations for starting a family.
“My mom had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19. It’s something I’ve wanted since before I met Jake,” she explained on the “Smartless” podcast in March. “Since I was a kid, I told my mom about baby dolls. I always wanted to be a mom just like she was to me.”
She added: “And my nan, my grandmother … played a significant role in my life. Jake knows how much this matters to me, and while I’m focused on establishing my career as an actor and producer, starting a family is equally vital for me. It’s a personal priority. Jake was adamant that we cannot do that until we get married.”
Brown discussed her and Bongiovi’s aspirations for a large family, as they both come from families of three siblings each.
“I want a family. A really big family,” she emphasized. “I’m one of four. He’s one of four. It’s definitely in our future, but I don’t see having my own child as being any different from adopting.”
Before Brown and Bongiovi’s adoption announcement, Bon Jovi spoke to The Sun about the couple’s future children.
“My grandkids will be more English than Italian or any of my other heritages!” he told the outlet in a June interview. “Isn’t that wild?”
He continued: “Suddenly, your kids are married, and they’re telling you about the prospect of grandbabies… whoa! There’s no chapter in my book that anticipated this.”
