Sharon Osbourne Grieves for Cherished Dog Elvis Following Ozzy Osbourne’s Passing
Sharon Osbourne is honoring her cherished dog, Elvis, several months after the passing of her husband, Ozzy Osbourne.
“I can’t believe I’m sharing this, but my sweet Elvis has departed this week. He gifted me 14 precious years. He was with me until the very end. Rest in peace, my dear boy! 💔,” wrote Sharon, 73, on Instagram on Sunday, October 19.
In her tribute, she shared a collection of photos of Elvis over the years. One picture shows Elvis resting on Ozzy’s chest, while another captures her and her late husband beaming alongside their dog.
Sharon and Ozzy’s daughter Kelly Osbourne also expressed her grief over Elvis’s passing in a separate post. (The couple also shares Aimee, 42, and Jack, 39. Ozzy is also the father of Jessica and Louis, whom he had with Thelma Riley. He adopted son Elliot, 59, from Riley’s previous relationship.)
“With a heavy heart, I want to share that we lost Elvis this week,” Kelly, 40, posted on Instagram on Sunday. “Our guardian angel has left us. Elvis was my constant companion since my dad passed. He helped me navigate through the darkest times of my life. I’ve been trying to find a silver lining in all of this, and the only thought I keep having is that perhaps my dad needed him.”
Kelly added, “Life can be incredibly harsh but also bestow many treasures. We were so fortunate to have Elvis for 14 years. Thank you for all the love, Elvis—you were truly one of a kind. I love you 💔 sleep peacefully, sweet prince, until we reunite!”
News of Ozzy’s death at age 76 broke in July.
“It is with more sadness than words can express that we report our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” stated his family. “He was surrounded by family and love. We kindly request everyone to respect our family’s privacy during this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis.”
In September, Sharon addressed the legendary rocker’s passing.
“I’m still struggling to find the words to convey my gratitude for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media. Your comments, posts, and tributes have provided me with more comfort than you realize. None of it has gone unnoticed; in fact, it has helped me through many difficult nights,” Sharon shared on Instagram at that time, alongside a video of her and Kelly interacting with an owl.
She added, “While I’m still finding my way, I wanted to share some wonderful creatures I had the opportunity to spend an afternoon with. The connection you make with these majestic birds is built solely on trust and confidence. They will only choose to perch on you if they feel you are safe and unafraid. It’s a bond I understand well, and the experience was truly magical.”
Sharon concluded, “I love you all, and I deeply appreciate the outpouring of love you continue to send my way.”
