Meghan Markle Breathes New Life into Pastel Pink with Stunning Dress
The color pink is getting a Meghan-inspired revival.
Markle, aged 43, dazzled in bubblegum pink at her friend’s baby shower, as seen in Instagram photos shared on December 11. In honor of her friend’s anticipated baby girl, Markle’s pastel dress showcased a square neckline, a body-hugging fit, and a flowing skirt.
Recently, pink has seen a comeback, highlighted by Ariana Grande‘s stunning looks during her Wicked promotional events and Sabrina Carpenter‘s charming rosy corset on her Short n’ Sweet Tour, along with various other stars embracing the trend.
Though pink experienced a brief lull following the peak of the Barbie aesthetic, it’s poised for a comeback. Margot Robbie, who embodied Barbie in the hit film, sported an array of vibrant fuchsia outfits throughout her press tour. With Markle’s recent appearance, the color is virtually guaranteed to make a swift resurgence.
Previously, Markle made a splash in red at the Children’s Hospital Gala in Los Angeles back in October. She wore a revamped version of the A-line Carolina Herrera dress she first donned at the Intrepid Museum’s Salute To Freedom Gala in November 2021.
The dress maintained its halter neck design and plunging neckline but was altered with a more streamlined skirt that accentuated her silhouette.
Since stepping back from royal duties, Markle has embraced vibrant color choices in her wardrobe. Throughout her Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, she shared insights into her prior fashion decisions, opting for neutrals while dating Prince Harry to adhere to royal fashion regulations, which advised against wearing colors shared with the late Queen Elizabeth II and other senior royals.
“During my time in the U.K., I seldom wore colors,” she revealed. “There was intention behind that.”
In the time since, she’s made headlines with striking prints, bright yellow dresses, and now charming pastels. Clearly, her fashion trajectory is set to remain vibrant.
