Influencer Becca Bloom Starts Every Morning with Bird Spit Breakfast

Influencer Becca Bloom follows a rather unconventional diet — starting her mornings with bird spit and caviar.

“Join me for breakfast,” Bloom, 27, said in a TikTok video posted on Friday, October 31, while opening a series of dim sum containers. “It’s 4:30 a.m. and we’re kicking off the day with seafood dumplings. The next tier features chicken sticky rice wrapped in seaweed.”

Before completing her dish, Bloom (whose real name is Rebecca Ma) disclosed her unusual morning ritual.

“Some of you might already know this, but I start every day by drinking bird spit,” she stated, sipping it as though it were any regular soup.

Bloom then proceeded to add marinated scallops, a hard-boiled egg, an apple, and some caviar “for seasoning.”

Her choice of breakfast quickly sparked reactions from numerous social media users questioning the influencer’s preference for consuming avian spit.

“Bird spit is quite common in Asia,” commented a TikTok follower. “When prepared correctly, it has a jelly-like consistency. We typically cook it with rock sugar, ginger, and jujube.”

Though Bloom has not addressed queries from fans, she finished her meal with a sip of coconut milk, served in a real coconut by her husband, software engineer David Pownall.

Even though Becca Bloom’s wedding appeared flawless to her 4.5 million TikTok followers, the influencer has opened up about the challenges that occurred on her special day. Bloom began her TikTok on Sunday, September 14, asserting that she and husband David Pownall had “the best day of our lives” and that her guests […]

Bloom and Pownall have been together since 2019, celebrating their nuptials in a beautiful Lake Como, Italy, ceremony on August 28.

“We had several weekends to consider, but a fortune teller told us this was the luckiest date,” Bloom, one of the prominent figures in the “RichTok” social media trend, shared with Vogue in September. “It felt like the universe was guiding us to that day.”

Bloom’s stylish flair also influenced her wedding weekend attire — she wore stunning gowns by Oscar de la Renta and Chanel.

“I know my choices for the wedding wardrobe were more audacious and vibrant than the traditional white palette, but I wanted the weekend to feel joyful and reflective of me,” Bloom explained. “I tried on many white gowns, but ultimately, I followed what made me happiest. Stepping into a giant flower felt like the most joyful choice.”

For her ceremony, Bloom’s Oscar de la Renta bridal gown was adorned with laser-cut peonies.

“Peonies are regarded as the unofficial flower of China, where my parents are from. They decorated the garden of my childhood home,” she recalled. “Each year, they would bloom, and they became my favorite flower, symbolizing family and home.”

Days later, Bloom shared her wedding experiences with her followers.

“On our wedding day, every forecast predicted a 100% chance of rain and thunder, and it rained all day. My parents, who are deeply involved in feng shui, reminded me that rain is auspicious,” she posted via Instagram on September 3. “Both of our parents were married during rainstorms and have happily been together for over 35 years. We took it as a sign, even though some floral arrangements, drinks, and planned activities had to move indoors. Remarkably, as our guests arrived, the skies cleared just above our villa.”

She concluded with, “The rain had rejuvenated the gardens, and the air felt incredibly gentle. And when we exchanged our vows, it felt almost miraculous.”
