Kim Kardashian’s True Thoughts on the Harsh Reviews of All’s Fair

Kim Kardashian’s latest acting endeavor, All’s Fair, has garnered some harsh reviews — yet the reality TV star remains undeterred by the criticism.

“Kim is thrilled with the overwhelming love from fans, and the show has remained No. 1 on Hulu for three consecutive days,” a source close to the mogul shared exclusively with Us Weekly on Friday, November 7. “She finds humor in the situation, believing that this negativity is actually drawing more viewers.”

“She’s incredibly ambitious and understands that one project doesn’t define her,” the insider added.

Kardashian, 45, stars in the latest series from renowned Ryan Murphy, the creator of American Horror Story, alongside talents like Sarah Paulson, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash, Teyana Taylor, and the legendary Glenn Close. The Hulu series centers around a group of female divorce attorneys who start their own practice in Los Angeles.

Following the premiere of the first three episodes on Tuesday, November 4, the series received a slew of zero-star ratings from various outlets.

The Guardian’s Lucy Mangan commented that she “did not know it was still possible to make television this bad,” while The Times’ Ben Dowell remarked that it “may be the worst TV drama ever.”

Other critics, such as The Hollywood Reporter’s Angie Han, focused specifically on Kardashian’s performance.

“Her mere presence generates buzz but delivers little else, which seems fitting for a show that appears more interested in being a source of viral moments than in being genuinely watched,” she noted, stating that the writing felt “stiff and affectless without any authentic notes.”

Kardashian took the opportunity to poke fun at the poor reviews on Thursday, November 6, sharing a selection of them via screenshots.

“Have you turned into the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!? All’s Fair streaming now on @hulu and @disneyplus,” the SKIMS founder quipped on Instagram, using screenshots from fan reactions and critic posts alongside images of her castmates and Murphy.

One screenshot highlighted a tweet noting that the series debuted with an almost unheard-of zero percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. “Immediately pressed play,” a fan said in response.

Another viewer shared that the new series is “some of the worst” TV they had “ever seen in my life, alongside the most predictable storylines and the most outrageous styling,” but added, “I’m obsessed, I need 14 seasons.”

A third fan remarked that the show is “Scream Queens but for wine moms and millennial gays” in reaction to a negative review from The Hollywood Reporter, while a fourth user asserted that All’s Fair is “actually so good.”

Kardashian also featured a screenshot from a BBC News review dubbing Murphy, 59, “the high priest of tacky, tasteless television,” adding, “this year, he has outdone himself.”
Despite the unkind reviews, Anthony Hemingway, an executive producer and director of four episodes, defended the Hulu series.

“You’re not going to please everyone,” Hemingway told The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday, November 5. “While there may be certain criticisms, there are a million others who love it. The show reflects back to each viewer; it’s about whether you can connect or relate to it. That may not resonate with everyone, and I think that applies to any content presented on screen.”
