Stefon Diggs Criticized for Cheerleader Interaction Following Cardi B’s Baby Announcement
Stefon Diggs faced criticism after throwing a football to a New England Patriots cheerleader shortly after news broke that he and his partner, Cardi B, welcomed their first child together.
“Bruh, what’s going on with Stefon Diggs? 😂😂😂,” Super Bowl champ Jason McCourty commented via X on Thursday, November 13.
McCourty, 38, shared a video of Patriots receiver Diggs, 31, attempting to pass the football to a cheerleader on the sidelines during the first quarter of New England’s 27-14 win over the New York Jets that night.
Earlier in the day, rapper Cardi B, 33, revealed that she and Diggs had just welcomed their first baby.
“A new baby in my life, and one more reason to strive to be the best version of myself. Another reason to love myself above all else, so I can provide my children with the love and life they truly deserve,” she stated via Instagram.
Football fans had a good laugh about Diggs’ action on Thursday, bombarding McCourty’s post with reactions.
“This guy is always looking for something 😂👀,” one user wrote. Another joked, “He must have written his number on the ball before the throw.”
There was also speculation that Cardi might not appreciate Diggs’ move.
“You know they’re arguing about this as soon as he gets home,” one user commented. Another added, “That’s his next baby mama; Cardi B’s gotta get a grip on this guy.”
Earlier this month, it was disclosed that Diggs is also the father of a baby girl with model Aileen Lopera, who was born in April.
“We can confirm that Mr. Diggs is the father,” Lopera’s attorney, Tamar Arminak, shared with Us Weekly on November 6. “We hope he will play an active role in the child’s life and co-parent with our client, who has managed everything on her own so far.”
In December 2024, Lopera initiated a paternity suit against Diggs, seeking legal and physical custody of the child.
Lopera requested the court to mandate Diggs to cover child support and pregnancy-related expenses, along with her legal fees.
Diggs responded to the lawsuit in July, stating he was uncertain about his paternity and asked for genetic testing. The NFL star also sought joint legal and physical custody if the DNA test confirmed he is the father.
Cardi B has rekindled her romance with Stefon Diggs, having gone through quite a turbulent relationship journey. The rapper divorced Offset, her husband of six years and the father of her children Kulture, Wave, and Blossom, amidst ongoing infidelity allegations. The couple tied the knot in 2017 after their first date.
Diggs is also a father to daughter Nova, born with a former partner in 2016.
Meanwhile, Cardi B welcomed her daughter Kulture in July 2018, son Wave in September 2021, and daughter Blossom in September 2024, all with her ex-spouse, Offset.
“My life has always been a series of different chapters and seasons,” she shared on Instagram on Thursday. “My last chapter was the beginning of a new season. Starting over isn’t easy, but it’s been incredibly rewarding!”
Cardi continued, “This next chapter is Me vs. Me! It’s about overcoming all the obstacles in my path. I’m prepping for tour, getting my body and mind right.
