Jets’ Quincy Williams Rocks Joker Costume Before Rivalry Showdown

Quincy Williams certainly made a statement with his pregame attire.

The New York Jets linebacker arrived for his team’s rivalry match against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, December 7, dressed in a Joker costume — complete with menacing face paint reminiscent of Heath Ledger’s unforgettable 2008 portrayal of the character, celebrating the special “Gotham City Football” uniforms the team showcased for the game.

Williams, who has frequently expressed his admiration for the legendary Batman foe, stepped into Metlife Stadium fully adorned in white face paint and eyeliner, sporting the iconic red grin that the Joker is famous for.

To finish off the ensemble, he dyed his hair green.

The team shared a video on Instagram capturing Williams flaunting his outfit at the stadium.

Williams is no newcomer to the character; he portrayed the Joker for Halloween in 2024. On Sunday morning, he shared a clip featuring Jack Nicholson as the Joker from the 1989 classic, “Batman,” hinting at his game-day attire.

The Jets donned special jerseys for the game against their division rival Dolphins, featuring a matte black helmet, Gotham Green jerseys and pants, along with unique fonts and nameplates.

The team experienced a rocky start on Sunday, allowing three touchdowns to the Dolphins in the first quarter and trailing 24-7 by halftime.

It has been a tumultuous — often disappointing — season for the Jets, who currently sit at 3-9 and at the bottom of the AFC East division.

On Thursday, December 4, Williams was nominated for the 2025 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, honoring players who “demonstrate a commitment to making a positive impact beyond the game.”

“Being nominated for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award is an incredible honor,” Williams expressed in a statement. “I’m thankful to the Jets organization and everyone in the community who has supported me. Contributing and making a difference off the field is just as meaningful to me as playing on Sundays. I hope my efforts inspire others to uplift those around them and effect lasting change together.”

Williams is being honored for his off-the-field contributions made earlier this year when he welcomed five young fans who have battled cancer to be honorary captains during the Jets’ Crucial Catch game on October 5.

He also organized a football camp at Miles College that engaged over 200 young participants, providing mentoring and sports training.

“This recognition is for Quincy Williams the person, who’s always smiling, not just the football player,” Williams told the media following practice on Thursday. “It’s a great honor to be nominated. Winning would take it to another level.”

He added, “Most of the time, I’m giving back to the community from my heart, and it brings me joy to see others happy. … I’m not doing it for recognition; I just enjoy spending time with people while giving back. When they told me this was a reward for that, I was surprised. My real reward is the smiles on people’s faces and the conversations we have.”
