Chris Pratt Shares Unique Christmas Gift from Arnold Schwarzenegger

Chris Pratt recently shared the delightful yet unusual Christmas present he received from his father-in-law, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

“Arnie’s love language is going all out with his gifts,” Pratt, 46, mentioned on the Thursday, January 8, episode of The Graham Norton Show. “One of the gifts was a six-by-eight-foot portrait painting of our three children, along with him dressed as Santa Claus.”

Pratt described Schwarzenegger’s painting as “the most beautiful portrait you’ve ever seen,” noting its “remarkable lifelike quality and sizable dimensions.” He added, “However, we’re uncertain about what to do with it for the remainder of the year.”

Fellow guest Dawn French humorously commented, “You can’t really regift that, can you?”

Pratt previously discussed Schwarzenegger’s impressive gifting skills during an August 2025 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

“He’s exceptional at giving personalized gifts, such as quilts featuring our faces,” Pratt explained at the time. “For Mother’s Day, he arranged for all the children to come over, setting up an entire painting party. It was adorable to see the Governator painting alongside the girls, and he had them make handprints.”

Arnold, 78, became Pratt’s father-in-law when the Guardians of the Galaxy star wed Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019. (Katherine, 36, is one of Arnold’s four children with ex-wife Maria Shriver. The Terminator star also shares a son, Joseph, 28, with Mildred Patricia Baena.)

Since their marriage, Pratt and Katherine have welcomed three children of their own: daughters Lyla, 5, and Eloise, 3, and son Ford, 14 months. Pratt also has a son, Jack, 13, from his previous marriage to Anna Faris.

Arnold has expressed his joy in being a grandfather. In February 2024, he shared his favorite activities with Pratt and Katherine’s children.

“Katherine and Chris come over to my house at least once a week. We have a lot of fun playing with the animals,” he said. “I let them ride on the miniature donkey… One time, a child wanted to ride the pig. I said, ‘No, no. Pigs are not for riding.’”

However, Arnold did mention that the kids may be “a little spoiled.”

“When I took them to the stable and asked if they would help me shovel manure, they said no,” he continued. “Chris quickly said, ‘No, no. They weren’t raised to do that.’”

Arnold has also commended Katherine’s parenting skills.

“It’s wonderful to see your kids raising children themselves and to witness this new dimension,” he remarked to People in 2023. “You watch them grow up, go to school, achieve degrees, and find jobs. But seeing them as parents? It’s truly fantastic.”

Arnold and Pratt have established a strong bond; the Twins star revealed on the “New Heights” podcast in 2024 that he feels “really happy” Katherine found her now-husband.

“They fit so well together, and they look fantastic as a couple. Their love for each other is evident,” Arnold added.
