Tara Lipinski’s Top Winter Skincare Tips and Strategy Insights from The Traitors
Tara Lipinski is devoted to achieving luminous skin.
At 43, Lipinski shared with Us Weekly about her collaboration with Thayers and their latest 80 Hour Milky Moisturizer, which leaves her skin as radiant as ever. “I’ve used Thayers before, but for the past few months, I’ve exclusively relied on them, and I am completely hooked,” the Olympic ice skater revealed to Us. “The dry weather, along with skating and being in the cold, definitely impacts my skin,” Lipinski added. “I’ve been loving their products, especially their toner.”
With a return to the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan as a commentator, Lipinski ensured to take her Milky Moisturizer with her. “I apply it without makeup, and then again before doing my full makeup,” she gushed to Us, calling it her essential product.
Her skincare regimen currently includes Thayers’ PH Balancing Gentle Cleanser, which she swears by. “Finding cleansers that clean my skin effectively without causing irritation is a rarity,” she said. Lipinski particularly values this product because it removes “all” her “makeup and grime” without stripping her skin. After this, she follows up with the Milky Moisturizer.
“I’ve always been somewhat of a skincare enthusiast, and while I’ve tried countless products, over time I’ve identified my go-tos that work for my skin,” Lipinski shared.
She also reflected on aging and noting the “effects” cold weather has on her complexion.
“Given that I live my life in colder climates, I know the importance of moisturizing and hydrating,” Lipinski shared with Us.
If she spends extra time on the rink and her skin feels particularly dry, Lipinski has a humorous remedy: diaper paste on her face. “If my skin is ever really red or irritated, I’ll apply zinc oxide paste, and it does wonders overnight,” she disclosed.
Lipinski is also fervent about applying sunscreen daily on her face, neck, and hands. She takes additional steps when getting her nails done, using a UV lamp and wearing gloves.
When she’s not on the ice or providing commentary for the Olympics, viewers can catch Lipinski in season 4 of The Traitors, a murder mystery game hosted by Alan Cumming. She also discussed how the “psychological” challenges of the game compare to being an Olympic athlete.
“The pressure of the Olympic Games is unlike any other,” she remarked. “However, this presented a new level of psychological pressure and the challenges Alan placed upon us daily.” She also highlighted that her and Johnny Weir’s strategy was to behave as total strangers to keep their secret alliance hidden—even after years of friendship and commentating together at the Olympics.
“As a competitor, that was the mindset I adopted, and the strategy Johnny and I engaged in,” she explained. “We meticulously planned our act of pretending not to be close. While my gameplay aimed to remain under the radar, I aimed to be part of the mix.”
She added, “Johnny and I committed to our roles, insisting that we barely knew one another. Even when he hugged me in the first episode, you could see my surprise, as I felt that was overly familiar.”
