Golden Bachelor’s Amy Kaplan Reveals Why She Invested in a $75K Facelift

Golden Bachelor alum Amy Kaplan is discussing her choice to undergo a deep-plane facelift, which comes with a hefty price tag.

“I’ve been considering it for a while,” Kaplan, 63, shared with People in an interview released on Sunday, May 3. “I’m about four and a half to five years removed from all that. I feel good—I work out a couple of hours daily, eat healthily, so I thought, ‘Okay, I’m ready. Let’s go for it.’”

Kaplan revealed that her motivation for the cosmetic surgery stemmed from the feeling that “the person I see in the mirror doesn’t match how I feel inside.” She ultimately consulted with Beverly Hills-based facial plastic surgeon Dr. Patrick K. Davis, who mentioned the procedure costs “around the $75,000 range.”

“See all this sagging? My lips frown when everything starts to droop, giving me a sad appearance,” she explained. “I’m addressing my neck and face. His technique is vertical, lifting the cheeks back up for a deep-plane vertical lift. I’m also planning a lateral brow lift that lifts just the outer third, so they elevate slightly.”

After her facelift, Kaplan expressed that she’s feeling “really good” and has “no” regrets.

“I was back at the gym, probably about two weeks post-procedure,” she said. “I waited about four to five weeks before I started with light weights, and now I think it’s been eight weeks, and I’m lifting again.”

While she was initially apprehensive about the first few days of recovery, Kaplan found it wasn’t as painful as she had anticipated—just some “discomfort” instead.

“I look just like myself, but a younger version,” she noted. “Now my face aligns with my body, soul, and spirit. My daughters are thrilled; they said, ‘Mom, you look like you did ten years ago! You look amazing. It’s so natural.’”

Kaplan was a contestant vying for the affection of Mel Owens in the second season of The Golden Bachelor in 2025. After Owens sent Kaplan home, he ended the season in a relationship with Peg Munson. Kaplan aims to be the next Golden Bachelorette.

“If they reach out to me, I would certainly respond,” Kaplan shared exclusively with Us Weekly in 2025. “I believe that being the one chosen is a preferable scenario for me, as they would need to compete for my attention.”

She added, “Of course, I’d only pursue connections that feel genuine. I’ve never chased a man in my life; they should be the ones coming to me. It’s silly otherwise.”
