Alex Vesia’s Wife Provides Update Six Months After Their Baby’s Passing

Alex Vesia and his wife, Kayla Vesia, are still navigating the pain of losing their baby daughter.

“Here I am at the six-month mark since losing my daughter, Sterling,” Kayla, 30, shared in a video posted on TikTok on Friday, May 1. “Honestly, it’s so hard to grasp that we’re already at the six-month mark. I feel torn between, ‘How did we get here so fast?’ and ‘It makes sense since time is racing by.’”

Kayla and Alex, also 30, revealed in November 2025 that their “sweet daughter has gone to heaven.”

“There are no words to express the heartache we’re enduring, but we keep her in our hearts and treasure every moment we had with her,” the couple wrote in a social media post at that time. “We are grateful to the Dodgers for their compassion and support through this difficult period. Our baseball family has been there for us, and we couldn’t have gotten through this without them.”

Alex did not participate in the remaining MLB playoffs, including the 2025 World Series, which the Dodgers ultimately won. He returned to play earlier this year, with a tribute to Sterling on his new glove.

“I can’t really describe it. Some days feel incredibly long … but what consumes my thoughts now is imagining what life would be like if she were here,” Kayla reflected in her Friday video. “[I] wish she was here to share in this life with Alex and me, experiencing all the things we had planned. It’s truly hard to not have that.”

She added, “Everything felt so dark and heavy back then. Now, while it still feels really f***ing heavy, there are moments of light and joy, and I’m incredibly thankful for that as it pushes us forward.”

Kayla expressed gratitude for the immense support from friends and family.

“Without their help, we wouldn’t be where we are now,” she noted. “Therapy has played a crucial role in our healing journey for both of us. It’s been a significant source of support since we returned home. I strongly advocate for therapy, so when we were ready, [Alex] was eager to begin. I’m grateful he wanted to be part of that and also seek help.”

Even as she copes with Sterling’s loss, Kayla continues to “think about her every moment.”

“I’m gradually finding peace and healing,” she stated. “Every day, of course, remains unique, filled with darkness and heaviness. However, with time, therapy, and support from family and friends, it’s becoming a bit lighter. It will never be the same, but I will always carry her in my heart, body, and mind.”
