Although they are still in their teens, the couple is striving to mature quickly, even with their extended family voicing their opinions on the situation.
“I don’t want him to be held back in the 8th grade,” Bella’s mother, Falen, states in the season 7 trailer.
In response, Bella says, “I don’t want him to be a tenth grader dating an eighth grader. We’re preparing for a toddler.”

“I did not ruin Hunter’s life. When I found out I was pregnant, I gave him a choice. I said, ‘If you can’t handle this or don’t want to be a part, that’s okay. I can manage on my own or with you. It’s your call,’” Bella noted on TikTok on January 19. “He decided to stay and care for our baby.”

Prior to the launch of season 7 of Unexpected, Bella Vaughn’s parents, Kris Vaughn and Falen Vaughn, responded to backlash regarding their daughter’s decisions.
“I just wanted to come on here and make a quick video,” Kris stated via TikTok on January 25 while addressing the critics. “With the trolls out there, they’re going to make season 7 exciting. It’s going to be a hot season.”

When a producer asked about his reaction to his dad’s comment, Hunter replied, “I know Bella might not believe me, but it didn’t really bother me.”

In another segment of the clip, Bella revealed that she became pregnant after Hunter’s condom failed.
“I discovered I was pregnant because I missed my period, which has been consistently 28 days,” she recalled. “When I realized I missed it that morning, I told mom, ‘I need to take a test.’ And sure enough, it was positive.”
