Cross Stars Returning and Not Returning for Season 2 Following Split
James Patterson’s Cross has returned for a thrilling second season. But which cast members are back after a surprising onscreen split and unexpected romantic twist?
Premiering in 2024, Cross is based on Patterson’s Alex Cross novel series. The show follows forensic psychologist and D.C. Metro Detective Alex Cross as he hunts down some of America’s most dangerous criminals. Alongside his partner, Cross faces the dangers of the criminal underworld while striving to protect his family.
Joining Mason and Lillard are Aldis Hodge, Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, and Jennifer Wigmore.
“Every job you take on is a new adventure. You go in not knowing what to expect,” Lillard, who portrays Lance, shared exclusively with Us Weekly in February 2026. “We had to audition without having seen the show, so when we secured the roles, we were based on just a few pages of script. It’s truly a pleasure to play these characters in a show that has become a worldwide sensation.”
Lillard commended the series’ viewership, stating, “We gained 40 million views in just the first 20 days. We’re thrilled to be a part of this hit show and excited for everyone to join us on this journey. It’s going to be amazing.”
