Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes in Talks with Netflix for New Project
Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes may soon be adding to their list of TV credits, but this time, it might be behind the scenes rather than in front of the camera.
The newly engaged couple has been “approached” by Netflix for a project inspired by their journey together, according to a source who spoke exclusively to Us Weekly.
“Netflix has reached out to T.J. and Amy, showing interest in creating a series or film centered around their love story and their life together, including the affair,” the insider reveals, adding, “It’s very early days.”
The prospective project would be grounded in “true events,” according to the insider, but it remains far from finalized.
“They may not pursue it and might not want to be involved,” the source mentions regarding Robach, 53, and Holmes, 48.
The insider elaborates that the couple, engaged in fall 2025, is not keen on revisiting the 2022 scandal.
“Amy and T.J. want to move past the affair because they feel their love story is authentic and deserve a fresh start,” the source tells Us. “They are not interested in a project revolving around their love story or affair and don’t want that referenced in any work. They take pride in their love, and their future vows are deeply personal, meant to honor their commitment without public scrutiny or mockery.”
The source added: “They would prefer a talk show or podcast and aim to live their love life authentically and privately.”
According to the insider, Netflix is just the latest in a line of entities wanting to collaborate with the couple.
“Previously, they were approached for a home renovation, DIY-type show, but they turned it down,” the source shares.
Given their news broadcasting background, the pair “is not looking to do reality TV or a docuseries” but are open to various other opportunities.
“Their goal is to host a talk show together on a network,” the insider adds.
Robach and Holmes co-hosted GMA: What You Need to Know for over two years until photos of them made headlines in November 2022. (Robach joined ABC News in 2012, while Holmes came aboard two years later.)
At that time, Robach was married to Andrew Shue, and Holmes was married to Marilee Fiebig.
Following the release of the photos, both Robach and Holmes exited ABC in January 2023. The network released a statement saying, “After several productive discussions with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, regarding different options, we all agreed it’s best for them to move on from ABC News.”
The network further stated: “We acknowledge their talent and commitment over the years and are grateful for their contributions.”
The couple also experienced significant changes in their personal lives. Robach finalized her divorce from Shue, 59, in March 2023, later revealing that they had quietly separated in the summer of 2022. While they share no children, Robach is a mother to two daughters from her previous marriage to Tim McIntosh.
Us confirmed that Holmes finalized his divorce from Fiebig, 48, in October 2023. The couple shares one daughter, Sabine, 13. Holmes is also a father to daughter Brianne and son Jaiden from his previous marriage to Amy Ferson. (Shue and Fiebig have since begun dating.)
As the scandal subsided, Holmes and Robach re-emerged into the spotlight as their relationship grew stronger.
They launched a joint podcast, “Amy & T.J.,” in December 2023 and announced their engagement on the show nearly two years later.
“We are excited to share with all of you that we are engaged, and we’ve been engaged for about a month now,” Robach stated on an October 2025 episode of the iHeartRadio podcast.
Holmes added, “We wanted you to be the first to know; we’ve learned that lesson from our past experiences about our relationship.”
In a December 2023 episode, they clarified that they were both separated before embarking on their romantic relationship.
“It was very clear to anyone who knew me that I was in the middle of a divorce,” Robach said then. “T.J. is more private than I am and chose to keep that quiet. It was challenging since anyone who wasn’t in a small circle was unaware of our divorces.”
A source shared with Us that the couple “threw a small private party with their closest friends and family” to reveal their engagement and upcoming wedding plans.
According to the insider, they are planning a “small and intimate” celebration for under 100 guests.
“They envision a destination wedding to avoid a media frenzy,” an insider revealed to Us the following month. “They don’t want their wedding to be about that.”
Regarding the guest list, a separate insider informed Us in January that the wedding wouldn’t be celebrity-heavy. “They plan on inviting only their closest friends and family on their special day, and as of now, they haven’t decided to invite anyone from GMA.”
