Counting On Stars John-David Duggar and Abbie Duggar Welcome Their Third Child
John-David Duggar and his wife, Abbie Duggar, joyfully welcomed their third child.
“John and Abbie – party of 5! 🤍 Our darling little girl arrived last month,” shared John-David, 36, and Abbie, 33, via Instagram on Saturday, February 28, including family snapshots with all three kids. “We’re utterly in love and enjoying every newborn cuddle!”
Though the Counting On couple did not immediately reveal their newborn’s name, they were surrounded by family support during this exciting time.
“Sending lots of love and congratulations to my brother and sister-in-law on the arrival of their beautiful bundle of joy,” posted John-David’s twin, Jana Duggar, on her Instagram Stories that Saturday. (Jana, 36, welcomed her son Archie in December 2025, just a month before her twin’s third child arrived.)
John-David and Abbie married in November 2018. They previously welcomed their daughter Grace in January 2020 and son Charlie in September 2022.
Three years later, they announced they were expecting their third child.
“We’ve been keeping a little secret … 🤭🤗,” they captioned their September 2025 Instagram post. “Baby #3 arriving in early 2026!!!”
In the accompanying maternity photos, the family held balloons: Grace with the number one, Charlie with two, and John-David and Abbie with three, which had sonogram images attached. Abbie also lovingly cradled her baby bump while posing with her husband and kids.
Later that month, Abbie shared her struggle with hyperemesis, a severe form of pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting that can lead to complications.
“A little over halfway!” she captioned Instagram photos showcasing her bump on the beach. “The first half was quite challenging, but I’m so grateful to be feeling more like myself again! God is good! #pregnant #hyperemesis.”
In October 2025, John-David and Abbie hosted a gender reveal with his twin sister, Jana Duggar, who announced her pregnancy with husband Stephen Wissmann in August 2025. In a YouTube video on Jana’s channel, John-David and Abbie discovered they were having a girl while Jana found out she was expecting a boy.
“We couldn’t be happier to be adding a little 🎀GIRL🎀 to our family!!!” they shared in a joint Instagram post in November 2025. “Celebrating this special day with Jana and Stephen will forever be a cherished memory. And in classic twin style … the girl twin is having a boy and the boy twin is having a girl! 💗💙.”
Before the arrival of their third child, John-David and Abbie celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary in November 2025.
“We celebrated 7 years of marriage this week! 🥂,” they captioned their Instagram post. “I feel so blessed to be married to my best friend who loves me so deeply, cares for me so gently, waits for me so patiently, and serves so selflessly! God has been incredibly good and kind to us! 🥹.”
Even though John-David and Abbie have plenty of parenting experience by now, they spoke exclusively to Us Weekly in January 2020 about adjusting to their new roles after Grace’s birth.
“We are getting used to our new routine, which includes a few long nights while Gracie learns the difference between day and night,” they commented at the time. “Mom and baby are both doing great, and we are overflowing with love for her!”
They added, “We are so grateful for the helpful advice and support from our families during this new and wonderful chapter of our lives.”
John-David is the third oldest of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s 19 children. The family notably starred in the TLC reality series 19 Kids and Counting from 2008 to 2015 and Counting On from 2015 to 2020.
